Mmm. That looks yummy! What was the recipe?
I loaned Alissa's book to my best friend, so I don't have it on hand for the recipes.

My favorite food in the world is Indian food. So this reminds me a lot of that. It's is very very good. You can vary the spices to your taste, I like mine more spicey than most in my household :).

Great Firefly!
When you try it unless you like spicy food, you may want to take it easy on the spices at first. It can get pretty warm if you don't know what a "Dash" is LOL.
Let me know if you like it.

I have got to get Alissa's book for Christmas! I just made this dip and it's veryvery spicy! I adore spicy foods, although I may have to make an alternate dip for my younger ones whose palates are not as accustomed to this (they like the milder spiced things, while my older 2 children lurve spicy and hot). I forgot how much I love cumin. I managed to get Frontier Brand cumin and organic spinach, so most of the ingredients (including the avocado, ginger, and garlic) are organic.
So if the sample recipes I have made are any indication, my children are going to love raw.

You can use the indian spinach dip and add cubed pieces of jicama. Let it sit for awhile (a couple of hours to overnight) and you get a raw version of saag paneer. Serve with cauliflower "rice" on the side and a mango smoothie & it doesn't get any better at ay indian restaurant!!
Yummy!

Going to the store in about an hour to get the ingredients for this.
I cannot wait to try it! Can't believe I've skipped over it so many times in the book before!
Never got a chance to make it before my trip, so will make it today.
Can't wait to try it!

Pam, you will LOOOOOVE it! (If you like spicy Indian food!)
My husband just picked up two extra bags of organic spinach and some more lemons and garlic so I can whip up a batch to refrigerate over night for tomorrow's supper!
They are loving raw more and more because I've made recipes that people have raved about right here!

Had to report back and say that I made this last night.
It was so good! I added more spice and it could have been even spicier!!
But, it hit the spot and noone else ate any! :)
Try this if you have not yet, you will be very glad you did!

Pam, I am so glad you liked it. I also, was very liberal with the spices! (I also added cardamom to the mix) I made some for this evening's dinner! I also made a mild dip for my younger children with basil and garlic. (They didn't like the Indian spices)

My spinach dip is not as dark as Tim's though. But, I used 2 small avocados. Maybe that was why my spices seemed diluted.
Maye next time I'll really add in the spices!
I have enough to make 3 more batches! LOL
