i want to get this:
http://www.amazon.com/Virgin-Chia-12oz-Glass-Bottle/dp/B004PWMQKG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=miscellaneous&qid=1299325130&sr=8-3-spell
but there is literally half a pound of omega 3 in this bottle, and they don't seem to have a smaller bottle. it would take me months to finish it and i am worried if it will go rancid before that time?
how long do you think it would keep for and how would you store it?
I store my flax oil in the freezer. I learned this from my MD's office that sells Barlean's flax oil which is pressed here in WA. They have it flown down because he's very strict about getting the oil as freshly pressed as possible and then storing in the freezer because it goes rancid so quickly.
Personally, I would do the same with chia oil too.
I don't know how long it will keep - but I don't know of anything you could do to keep it fresher besides pressing your own. Even though we cold press our own flax oil with our Samson juicer, we still press 4 jars (14 ounces each) just for ease.

fish oil caps say do not freeze. are you sure freezing won't affect the nutrition?

I don't know. I wonder if the chia oil company would have that information?
I was just curious how much oil you plan to take per day, when you posted that an 8oz container would last you for months.. My husband and I take 1 tablespoon flax oil (sometimes I take 2T per day) and we go through a 14 ounce bottle in about 3 weeks. *Ü*

12 oz is a pretty small amount... i'm surprised you couldn't go through that in time.
even 1/4 oz a day would only be 48 days.

did u try to estimate your W3/W6 ratio ? as far as i understand about 1/3 or so is optimal.

i'm worried if i would have too much omega 3. omega 3 is powerful stuff, you need to get just the right amount ( in relation to your omega 6 intake ).
