I am still very new to raw food and have been taking it just a meal at a time. First I worked on breakfast. then lunch. dinner will be next.

But what can I do about the afternoon munchies? That time in the late afternoon when I just HAVE to have something warm and crunchy. Today I caved and ate DH's leftover pizza.

I'm currently only trying to get to about 80% raw. I eat granola sometimes for breakfast and lots of green smoothies.

Warm and crunchy... hmmm...

Hummus dip with veggies, you could 'warm up' the dip in a blender or put a bowl of the hummus in a bowl of hot water....

If you have a dehydrator - make & keep a variety of flax / buckwheat crackers in the freezer. They're great with some nut-cheese, avo, tomato etc. on top. They're nice to eat straight out the freezer - or just pop in the D for a few minutes to warm up.

I used to leave a bag of chia seeds at work and mix about a tablespoon in some water and let sit for awhile. I sometimes put in some flavoring (not raw) but it is fine plain. Just about 6 ounces of water I guess. Holds me over. Or you could have some fruit. That also worked for me--still does.

make flax bread.

even if you do not have a dehydrator. make them in your oven turned down as low as it can go. don't be boring, add sweet potato, onions, sun dried tomatoes, herbs...etc, to the bread to make them delectable.

make fruit crisps. like apple crisps and banana chips. this is something that can also be done in dehydrator or in oven on low. if it's sunny enough where you are, dehydrate with the sun!

veggies are crunchy. make a basil/parsley pesto dip for celery and carrot sticks.
my favorite dip these days has been sundried tomato/black olive dip.

i had a real nice time making raw falafels. they are served warm, and have a crunch to them.... i ate them in lettuce wraps (lettuce is crunchy too!) with a dressing that i made out of lemon/ginger/sunflower seeds/date

I think it is harder to deal with cravings when you still eat cooked food. But maybe dehydrated flax crackers ahead of time so you have them on hand for munchies.
Cut up veggies in fridge work with homemade dip.
Making kale chips is also a good idea.
Just having something ahead of time helps so you do not have to eat cooked food.

Yep, I agree I have found that I have more cravings if I have a bit of cooked food here and there as appose to being totally raw.
