Hi,
Anyone got a simple corn soup/chowder recipe? I remember reading a post that someone posted about a creamy corn chowder or something. Thx

I've seen a lot of recipes, but they seem to be using either nuts/refined oil. I just use avocado instead, though it does turn it light green. :hippy
My Simple Corn Chowder
2 cups corn
1 de-stemmed clove garlic (cut it in half then remove the middle piece)
1/2-1 avocado (if it's small use whole, if it's large use half)
salt/pepper/thyme to taste
water as needed
Blend 1 cup of corn with the all other ingredients and water to make it your preferred consistency, then lightly blend or just stir in the other cup.
If you like it spicy just add some cayenne or jalapeno, and if you like it w/ other veggies likes bell pepper or onion just blend some in or add as chunks. It's a very versatile recipe.
:throwhearts:
Here's the one I make all the time. I use frozen organic corn that I buy at Costco. No, the corn probably isn't raw, but I don't mind.

Serves 2-3
1 c corn kernels
1 clove garlic
1 T onion
1/4 c cashews
2 T nutritional yeast (heaping)
4 baby carrots (2 regular carrots)
1/4" ring of red pepper (1/4 - 1/2 of a whole pepper)
2 T olive oil
1/2 - 1 t psyllium (depending how thick you wish chowder to get) (Deb - I use 2 tsp chia seeds)
1 t cumin
1/8 t nutmeg
1 T parsley
1/2 t salt
Ground pepper to taste
2 c water
Blend in hi speed blender till very creamy.
Add : (unblended)
1/4 c more corn kernels (I add more)
1 T parsley
Warm up on stove till warm enough to eat.
Bowl up and garnish with additional minced parsley & fresh ground pepper.
Snowdrop's Note: You can use fresh or frozen corn -I used frozen today because it is winter and there is no fresh corn available. I didn't use miso, but a light miso would easily replace the salt & add a deeper dimension of flavor.
Carmella's Note: I didn't change a thing to the recipe and it turned out fabulously!
Enjoy!

I've heard that this is not raw. But, it's the closet thing to it?
If I'm craving a pnut butter sandwich, I'd rather have this with organic almond butter and sliced strawberries. But I'm sure that this is a raw no-no correct?

Hi rawshell ~ You're right, Ezekial bread is not raw and I'm not sure it can be said, "It's the closest thing to raw". It's a sprouted grain baked bread. I used to eat it all the time before raw.
If you have a dehydrator you can make breads, crackers etc for your "PB&J"
