I dont own a juicer.. but cant I just have the equivalent by adding loads of water to my smoothies so that its basically like a juice from a juicer?

possible, but you would have to strain the pulp through a nut milk bag otherwise it would be like drinking soup (if you are blending things like carrot and beets). Much easier to pick up a second hand juicer...

juice has no fibre, smoothies do. you can totally make juice in a blender... many people have!

i know someone who fasted on juice for 154 days and used a vita-mix for the entire time.

make your juice (yes adding water) and then strain it using a nut mylk bag (or paint strainer bag from home depot).

drink your juice, compose your fibre (or make crackers)

I invested in a juicer before. The cleanup and prep was just too much of a hassle for me, and I ended up selling it. If I were to juice again, I would go the blender route and use a strainer bag.

I have a good juicer that I never use. I can't stand the clean up. I always use the vitamix.

I use my vitamix as a juicer. Blend up my juicing stuff, then strain out with a nut milk bag (everytime, that phrase makes me giggle!). I find it's fun getting my hands in there and going 'squishy squishy' with the bag! Of course, the juice is a little more diluted because of the (small amount) of added water to make things blend, but I'm ok with that.

I agree, cleaning my juicer is more a hassle than rinsing out my blender / nut milk bag. Viva la vitamix!

i find the straining in the nut mylk bag, then the cleaning of the bag and then the cleaning of the vita-mix takes me waaaaaaaaaaaay longer than cleaning either of my juicers (champion and greenstar).

Ahhhhh, but you see, I don't strain. :)

ahhhh then it's not juice! (which explains why it's so quick for ya)

Well, let's call them smoothies then. I just started experimenting with the Vitamix a month ago. :)
