Ok, I know I shouldn't worry about calories when raw...however I'm not 100% and worry that I eat too much dried fruit when I do.

I'd love your opinions.

I eat dried fruit like this twice a week for starters, not every day. I have:

2-3 medjool dates
5 dried apricots
2 slices dried mango
20 thompson raisins
1-2 dried figs
(sometimes a few dried cherries)

I just worried this was way too many calories for a sitting.

THanks for your opinions.

I'm not a big dried fruit eater, I usually only use them in recipes,

but my hubby eats dates and raisins like crazy, the main thing is to remember to drink plenty of water when eating dried fruits.

so, if it were me, I would drink a big glass of water, and eat some dates, have another glass of water and eat some apricots, drink some more water and eat some raisins, etc.

although some people will tell you not to drink any liquids while eating as it dillutes the sotomach acids, but since you are eating fruits without their natural liquids, I would certainly either re-hydrate them or drink water with them.

Make sure you rinse your teeth very thoroughly and do not consume these dried fruits continually throughout the day or your dental health will suffer dramatically. It's also very wise to chew mineral-rich (mostly dark) greens after eating dried fruit.

Also ensure that you do not eat sorbated dried fruits. These are very unhealthy.

yes, you're eating too much dried fruit...

...but enjoy it. RawPriestess, and Arky gave good advice.

keep your teeth clean.

drink plenty of water.

eat plenty of dark leafy greens, to keep your mineral reserve up.

...and mostly importantly, enjoy your food, and eat it with graditude.

i eat alot of dried lyceum friut (goji berries)

mostly i soak it, and blend it up in smoothies though... so you can always reconstitute your favorites and use them...

enjoy!

If you choose to eat dried fruit, soak it, eat it, drink the water.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I figured that even if it was a largish amount of dried fruit, I'm only indulging in it once or twice a week, not every day.
