So, I started a personal goal - just 4 Days ago......"Get some kind of movement/fitness in each day, if even for only 10 minutes..." - I was going to do a 30 Day Challenge, but I will extend it to go through the end of March...so, a 34 Day Challenge for me....lol....
I'm happy to say I'm doing well & just finished the start of Day 4 for me....
I just did a dvd by Prevention called "Shortcuts to Big Weight Loss".....they have 3 - 10min workouts + the warm up/cooldown - about 5min each....
So, I did the "Warm-Up", "Kickbox Sculpt" & "Cool Down"....total time 20min
I will also be teaching my 1hr yoga class - which I do the moves while the members do - Hey - gotta get my movement/relaxation in too!! :meditating:
So, feel free to join me in moving for at least 10min per day, or create your own fitness goals!!!
I'm feeling really good about this!!!
Want an "extra" challenge?.....visit us on the 30 Day Raw Challenge Thread!!!!
There's a lot of inspiration & motivatin....not to mention yummy food pics!!

Monk! You're so motivating!! Kickboxing sounds awesome. I'm also gonna try to 30 day Raw Challenge too
Today I decided to do 10 minutes of yoga in the morning before work, and ended up going for 20 minutes:woot:
I also road the bike for 45 minutes.
Good luck everyone!!
I'm in!
I'm working on getting on a consistent schedule that includes muscle conditioning and cardio. I plan on going to the gym 4xs a week. :woohoo:
I just started a juice fast today for this entire month and have never worked out consistently while juice fasting, except going into the sauna or for light walks. So, this will be interesting. I'm going to have to wing it a bit and see how I feel, because if I feel too weak I won't work out. I'm willing it that I'll be able to work out at least the 4xs a week though. :D
Sunday I walked and today I warmed up on the treadmill for 15 minutes, did some muscle conditioning (full body), ab work, stretched then the sauna for about 25 minutes. It was easier than I thought and I didn't feel tired so that's a good sign! :woot:
Tomorrow I have a pretty long day and the only way I'd be able to work out is if I get up at 3 a.m., so I'm not sure that's going to happen. Maybe later, during the fast, who knows.
Anyway, I'm glad to be joining this thread! Happy Movement!

Yesterday:
* 20 min walk during lunch break
* 1hr of Kundalini Yoga
* 20 mins of Pilates Ab workout
Today: I stayed up late last night to make a cheesecake for the event we have tonight from 5-10pm. Not tired really but I hope it doesn't hit me hard around 5pm. LOL! I woke up at 4:45am and did 40 mins of Yoga & a 10 mins of Pilates Ab workout. My goal is to stay active (along with Zuri) for at least 5/7 days a week and also depending on my energy level since I am on a fast. But a walk every day rain or shine! So far so good! Happy Movin! :excited: Happy Movin! :excited:

Well my evening got hijacked last night. Missed even my 10 minutes of movin. Arms are sore from Monday's Yoga Booty.
Anyway today is another day. I turned my compost and tidied up my leaf piles. I also walked about 1.75 miles. Tomorrow I am considering doing house work at an aerobic pace for my workout. I have never done that before but it must be done.
I will weigh in tomorrow to see where I am at. I have put on some pounds and suspect hormones to be a culprit and maybe eating...I am not sure. Kidding of course. I am not happy about it.
Wow Zuri...sauna sounds great. Ahhhh!

Lovely 68 degree day here in East TN. Got to get out and drive in the sunshine today. Wonderful!
Me and Barry did upper body and abs today. I did a little extra upper body at the mall carrying around all those clothes to try on. Hope I don't have to see the chiropractor to work out the shopping kinks.
Have a fabulous Friday ya'll.
Monk, may your snow melt soon. We had snow on the ground here for a very long time and people were ready to commit harry carry if we got another snow.

Nice!! What kind of "yoga" did you do? I want to be outside too!!!!!
I found this cool "exercise" section on my on Demand and decided to try one of the yoga videos. It was ok, but I think I'd benefit more from going to an actual class. But this will have to do for awhile.

I am sooo jealous of you. It's 38 degrees and rainy outside here in Chicago. Lovely!!
Today I am feeling tired (just like Monk). The doggies I'm sitting for kept me up a bit late, which is normal considering it was their first day without their owners. So i wanted to make them as happy as possible
I won't be able to get much "workout" in but I will be lifting throughout the day at work and such. I will have time for at least 10 minutes of yoga this evening to wind down and stretch out a bit.
Bike tomorrow, and hopefully some walking (if it ever stops raining! ha!)

Ok, I got my work out clothes on and did 20 minutes on my treadmill on 3% incline... I was aiming for 30 but 20 was all I had in me.
I can't use my weights because of my tennis elbow, I am so bummed about this. I have a support on it but it's going on three weeks now and I am at a loss what do do about it.
Tuesday, I am trying my first spinning class, I don't need my arm for that!
Thanks for the encouragement guys! :throwhearts:

You're not alone. I've been feeling like this for the last couple of days. 20 minutes of treadmill is good. You got up and did it, and that's all that matters. You stopped when you needed to, but you still did it!

As for me I have been in a BLAAHHH state. However I got my bum on my bike today. I walked 3 dogs (seperate times) so that counts right!?!
I so want to crawl in a cave and sleep until it's above 35 degrees.

Monk you're sendin the chills to me again. I cant imagine snow in March but again I wasn't in Tennessee during the blizzard of '93. I was basking in the sun in Panama, Central America. Two seasons there...rainy and dry. Anyway... Can you grow some wheatgrass? Indoors? Sorry. Couldn't resist. I know smartypants here.
I just wanted a workout tonight that made my say ahhhhh! Sort of like "I just had a massage ahhhh". I found an old Yoga/Pilates dvd by Louise Solomon and did the abs and core section. Took about 15 minutes I guess. All floor work and very low key. It was perfect.
Everybody keep on moving.

Yoga I'm sure is great any time, I think there are even specific poses you can do before bed too..? Maybe they help to fall asleep?
Today I did:
Mountain jump lunges
sliding pushups

Fareezing in Tennessee today! What happened? I wanted to stand over the heater to warm up for my workout.
Today was Lower Body and Abs with Barry. Good workout except the kids kept calling me. They don't call much so I just had to stop and chat.
Oh and I have moved the scale down a pound. Finally!
Hope everyone had a great Thursday!

You guys are RAWKIN' This!
Monk: More snow? AHHHH Spring is almost here.... Last shovel of the year? I think so! Last night I went to my first Yoga class and loved it! It is the type of Yoga you teach. I've been doing Yoga but at home in the privacy of my own home but am thinking of doing every Tuesday now.
This is day#10 of my juice feast - still going strong and working out every day.
Happy Movin!
Hey Delise!!
The snow was heavy & wet, but it is mostly melted right now!!!!!
I'm so happy that you got to attend a yoga class & loved it!!
Great job on your juice feast & working out everyday!!!!!
haha you are too funny. I am finally see grass here in Chicago. It's very rainy. I really am beginning to need some sunshine for my mood and for my body. snow and rain go away! come again another day!!
I didn't get to go on my bike today! boo hoo. But I will be doing yoga before bed tonight (hopefully its not a bad idea to do yoga before bed, I understand its best in the morning?)
Yes, grass & sunshine is a wonderful combo!!!!
You can do yoga before bed, just make sure it's a "lower intensity" kind.....restorative yoga would be great!!
Even teaching my vinyasa yoga - I never have a problem sleeping - I end my class on a very calming note.....everyone is usually ready to chill out & go to bed when we are done! lol....:kisses:
Lol Ms. Smarty Pants! lol.....I have a lot of plants inside to get my "fill" of greeness.....
Glad you had an "ahhh" workout!
I need one of those tonight to end the week.....:heart
Oups lol, I meant Santana Planks, side planks..
Wow! lucky you lol, The last time I shoveled snow (2 weeks ago) it was a good work out!
Yoga I'm sure is great any time, I think there are even specific poses you can do before bed too..? Maybe they help to fall asleep?
Today I did:
Mountain jump lunges
sliding pushups
crunch scissors
reverse push up and knee tucks
20 min on the cellersier, 15/45
Ahhh....side planks! lol (We still love you Santa!!!)
Great workout!!

That definitely counts as movement! Shoveling snow is really good exercise. The heavy wet snow it's annoying though! LOL.I have been doing some yoga before bed and I am thinking it is helping me sleep. I am doing very low intensity (like you said) and it's really relaxing me. I find that I wake up not as stiff.
------
Going to do 30 minutes on the bike before work. Oh! and also going to get myself out of the house and to the store to pick up a few things. I guess it could wait but I'm going to do the no-so-lazy thing and get it done today!
Going to the boyfriend's this evening so no yoga but maybe a different kind of exercise :backhug wink wink
Happy Saturday to all! and hope everyone gets some good movement in today!

Took half day off on Friday. The sunshine was beautiful so I got out and raked the yard and dumped the compost. I also had a workout planned so I found another Yoga Booty dvd that I haven't done in years. It was dance/belly dancing/sculpting. I had a lot of fun with it.
Saturday was working at the bookkeeping service. Sit, stand, walk-walk-walk, squat, and shove those files. Anyway that was my movement for the day. We had a dinner at church so the evening was booked.
I have to say that I am feeling so good. I workout most days pretty vigorously and my body feels very healthy. Sort of like a well oiled machine. My joints are great, and I am rarely sore. It just feels different on raw compared to SAD and right now I am doing the 30 Day Challenge. Pretty good for an almost 47 yr old.
So glad to be here...:heart

Do-Ti-Do-Ti-Do...on the fitness thread by myself...where ya'll at?
My goodness time has changed and its 6:30 and still daylight. The front yard beckons me to come rake it. I just walked 2 miles to blow off some steam...bad new on DHs potential job. I feel guilty sitting in here on the internet. Oh well
Yesterday-walked 2 miles, quick upper body with weights, and abs. All good!
Take care everyone.

yoga booty sounds like a lot of fun! Especially the belly dancing part... never tried that before but kinda always wanted to. Different twist to exercise.
You're body sounds like its in great shape. You should healthier than me and I'm 25. But I can agree with you on the fact that it feels completely different on raw than on SAD. I feel like my flexibility is improving drastically.
Today I did some light yoga in the AM, and then 50 minutes on the bike. I also walked the dog.

I am happy with P90X for sure. It really got me back into shape and it is motivating me to want to do more active stuff. This is a keeper for me. I will be doing many rounds of P90X. That's how happy I am with it, plus anyone that I've seen on youtube keeps getting better results the more rounds they do. I was really impress with my results in round one and now am almost finish with round two resulting in more of a leaner muscular look which I am surprised and thought I never would have this results ever! This workout brings results for sure! Just had to stick with it for 90 days! Then I was hooked!

I know how you feel Monk. I think I've become way too dependant on technology than I think. Whatever happened to the days where not every household had a tv/computer/cellphones.. How ever did we all survive?!? hehehe. Those were the good old days. Paper, pen, letters in the mail, if you wanted to see someone you dropped by their house. lol enough of my ranting.
Today is GORGEOUS OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!:throwhearts: WOw! it's about 55 degrees here in Chicago and I just took a beautiful walk outside. I actually started out in my winter coat and sweatshirt, and ended up carrying my coat, and the sleeves of my hoodie rolled up!
I am flying high right now with this fresh oxygen, vitamin D, and my hair smelling like the wind! Love it!:woot:
Everyone have a fabulous day!

When I got home DH was standing in the street talking to the neighbor. He came in and asked me to walk another round with him. I did two miles on a very lovely sunny, but cool afternoon.
Yesterday I got my new trampoline. It was waiting for me when I got home with a happy birthday love note. I couldn't wait to get it put together to jump:trampoline: yipppeeee! Jumped for 30 minutes while listening to 70s music on Sirius! FUN!

Hey BlackKat!!
I think about the technology thing all the time.....I look at my sisters - growing up playing video games, playing with ipods, texting....and I think - man, when I was growing up I was riding my bike EVERYWHERE.....all day long - if I could.....I think my friends & I would put on 20+ miles in the summer riding back and forth everywhere.....we never just sat & did nothing.....
Glad you had a lovely walk on a beautiful, sunshiney day!!!!

I exercised a lot today and when I got home I felt like doing more. So much energy, regardless i put in 2.5 hours of fitness today. I think I might act on my impulse to exercise more, if my body wants to in the future. I could use to burn more calories.

Wow Seductive-great energy. I don't think I could keep going that long.
I have been moving every day. Saturday was working and Sunday housework.
Monday-10 minutes of abs and arms and stretching.
Tues-raking and pulling weeds out in the 81 degree weather. Lovely.
Wow I need to do Spring cleaning but I am working 6 days a week. I guess I will do Summer cleaning!
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone.

Welcome Steven!

I am feeling in a rut with my routinely work outs (bike, walking).I need to encorporate some new exercises in there. Maybe some inline skating next week, and I may try jogging! uh ohhhhh i said the j word. haha.
Feeling like a real cranky head today, I think I will just stay in (freezing outside today) and do some yoga tonight. Maybe a long hot bath with candles.

Burrrr cold out today or so it seemed. I retreated indoors and did Barry's Code Red workout. About 20 minutes wham bam.
Couldn't move last night. I was dragging. I think I used all my energy for my brain yesterday afternoon. I just let myself off the hook.
Hi Steve...glad you joined us!
Yes Blackkat, cranky heads need loooong hot baths especially with candles. AAHHHHHH! sounds nice

Hi peeps!!
Wow, I haven't logged on to RFT for a week!!
I have to admit - I have not gotten "planned" movement in everyday this week.....just my 1hr yoga class on Thursday.....there was a couple days of shoveling snow in there! (What the heck winter?!)......the other days were just filled with work & shivering because it got so cold out again.... :(
I will try to do better this week.....Thursday is the last day of the month!!!

Hello everyone. I had a great month with you. It has been an extremely busy month for me. Coming straight home to work out has been a blast. Its a new thing right now. I have dropped 3-4 pounds between the 30 Day Raw Challenge and the attempt to exercise each day. Biceps are poppin too, finally!
I have been blessed with 2 boxes of mushrooms this week. My brother in law helped me chop, marinate and dry them. Needless to say no time for the bod.
Earlier this week I did Yoga Booty Hip Hop & Abs, Barrys upper and abs. Its been a great month.
Thanks to all of you for sharing and to you Monk getting us going this month. Hugs to ya :hug
