I've been raw for 3 whole days, lol, and so far I feel better than I've felt in over 3 years. I quit smoking 2 and a half years ago. Couple that with menopause and I gained 27 lbs. Luckily, I've been into holistic health for the past 10 years, because had I gone to a western med doctor, I'm sure I would have been prescribed anti-depressants. I was exhausted all the time.
I've tried just about everything to lose weight, but really had no energy to exercise. I was vegetarian for 9 months out of 2010, and while I didn't lose any weight, I did feel better. I looked at the raw diet a little during that time, but didn't think I could go without my favorite cooked foods.
So, here I am. I finally hit the wall with the weight. I've always been petite and can't stand the way I feel, how my clothes fit, or looking in the mirror.
I have to say, the first day was just okay. I did have some bloating, which I understand is normal. Yesterday, I felt great. I ran/walked and my legs didn't feel like lead for the first time since I gained the weight. I've avoided running because it just plain hurt!
I was shocked to get on the scale this morning and have lost almost 4 lbs. 20 more to go! I'm excited to be here, and looking forward to learning as much as I can. :excited:
