How long will it store for out of the fridge?

I want to buy some cabbages tonite and some carrots. How long can i store them out of the fridge?

I have roommates and i dont have enough space in the fridge for my self :( Which is funny cause i am the landlord bahaha... its ok the fridge never worked out for me as far as produce storage goes.

Are there any instructions anywhere on the net about storing produces without a fridge? maybe a table that lists what fruit or veg and how long they last outside the fridge...

i have no idea... sorry. but a dark cool space would probably help. after all... in the market they aren't in a cooler... just on the shelf!

i've been known to have a few of them here and there.

Carrots I would store in cold water. Place in a container of water in a cheap styrofoam or other cooler and add a little ice now and then. In water they should last longer than if open to the air. I don't know how long though.
