I had tried to sprout for years and all I ever got was mold using various sprouters until I got this one for $10 at the health food store (and bought a 2nd 3 days later):

Since I got it I for the first time am growing sprouts continuously, I am finally using the 50+ pounds of 30+ different types of sprouting seeds I have.

I've been making my own mixes like 50-75% clover and the rest a mix of spicy sprouts like radish, mustard, arugula, cress, fenugreek, etc. Once they are grown I just put them in a bowl with some olive oil and vinegar or other dressing and it's so good.

Does anyone else make mixed sprout salads and does anyone have good sprout seed mix recipes of what sprouting seeds and what proportions make a good mix?

Thanks

Wish I could help here. Have been wanting to get into sprouting for some time. Did you try the straw baskets that the Sproutman recommends? Wondering if that would cut down on the mold issue. I just bought some seeds to give this a try. They were not as cost effective being purchased from the LHFS. Can you recommend a good source for quality sprouting seeds @ decent prices? Many thanks!

I no longer have any mold at all in the new jars I posted.

In USA the best place is probably www.sproutpeople.org or www.sprouting.com in Canada
