Hello! I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I have low thyroid issues, which I am on natural medicine for. I was talking to a personal trainer today asking her why I am having so much trouble losing my tummy, you know the "muffin top", yes I have two children, but they are both adopted, so i can't blame them. Anyway, I did some research online and came across some stuff about adrenal health. I have all the symptoms that they speak of. Continuing to eat raw will this help with that? Some of the symptoms that I have are stress, high cortisol levels, low thyroid, very low sex drive, can't seem to get rid of my belly. I think that is it. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. Thank you so much. Also if there is any partical foods I should eat or stay away from.

well if you're not already I'd buy some dulse flakes (seaweed) which have good natural iodine content and sprinkle them on your salads and also you can put them into green smoothies...any see veges will do though. They are pretty high in minerals in general and also have Chromium, Phosphorus, Zinc, Iron and high Potassium.
Out of interest what is in the natural medicine ?

Adrenal Recovery Soup
The following vegetable soup recipe has proved helpful in adrenal support. This high-energy soup, called “Taz,” comes from Dolores S. Downey's “Balancing body chemistry with nutrition” seminars.
16 oz. green beans
1 cup chopped celery
1 zucchini, sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup tomato juice
1 cup spring water
2 tbsp. raw honey
1 tsp. paprika
Combine ingredients and simmer for one hour until vegetables are tender. Pepper to taste.
Fruit
People with adrenal fatigue and blood sugar problems should go lightly on fruits, especially in the morning. Fruits contain a significant amount of fructose and potassium, which is a detrimental combination for those with exhausted adrenals. However, it is preferable that any fruit that you do eat is organically grown. Below is a short list of fruits people with adrenal fatigue tend to do well with, and ones they should avoid.
Preferred Fruits
papaya
mango
plums
pears
kiwi
apples
grapes (only a few)
cherries
Summary of What to Eat
Here are 9 easy rules to follow:
1) Eat a wide variety of whole, natural foods
2) Combine a healthy fat, protein and carbohydrate source with every meal
3) Eat lots of vegetables, especially the brightly colored ones
4) Salt your food to a pleasant taste
5) Eat mainly whole grains as your source of carbohydrate
6) Combine grains with legumes (beans), or legumes with seeds or nuts to form a complete protein
7) Avoid fruit in the morning
8) Mix 1-2 tablespoons of fresh essential oils (cold pressed olive, grape seed, safflower, flax, etc.) into grains, vegetables and meats daily
9) Eat high quality food; it becomes you.

You might want to lay off the raw cacao if you are eating this regularly. I have heard from multiple sources that this is linked to adrenal exhaustion.
