I am just beginning to eat more raw foods.

Would some of you mind posting what you eat in a typical day?

Also, how do you gauge what percent of your diet is raw?

I am aiming for 80% for me and 60% for the rest of my SAD carnivorous family. (I think they'll come around eventually!)

Hi Cricket!

I understand what you mean about the sad carnivorous family! My boyfriend still eats meat, but he will happily eat my delicious raw creations as well. This morning we both had tall green smoothies! He's pretty open to what I make though because I started by cooking delicious cooked meals for him so he trusts whatever I give him now. :)

A typical day for me in the life of raw food:

Breakfast:
1 giant green smoothie! (20 oz +)
Today's was made with bananas, strawberries, raw wheat germ, almond milk and lots of fresh spinach! Can't even taste the spinach :)

snack on some walnuts

Lunch will probably be a big arugula and mustard green salad with cucumbers, red onion, avocado, tomato and a lemon and pesto salad dressing

Dinner:

Not sure yet. Last night though I spiralized some butternut squash into spaghetti and mixed it with pesto. It was delicious! Normally I would use zucchini but the zucchini these days are absolutely tiny!

I might make a gazpacho of some kind, or stack sliced tomatoes with the cashew ricotta i made yesterday. I'll be after something savory for sure.

maybe another green smoothie for dessert?

Hi! I am not 100% raw at the moment... at least not until the end of spring when the farmers market opens and more fruits are in season.

For breakfast I'll defrost some of the peaches I froze last summer, usually about 3 to 4 cups of slices, or half a blender full of blueberries with water and a squeeze of lemon. for lunch I'll have hand squeezed oj, maybe 5 oranges worth a huge green salad with carrots, celery, snow peas, and blended mango lemon dressing, or I'll have the oj, and a bit later I'll have a bunch of celery, with homemade hummus. snacks I'll have apples, dinner is heavier, I tend to eat more in the evenings despite how much I've had earlier, so around 4:30 I'll fill a blender with shredded kale, spinach, or chard, a squeeze of lemon, and water, blend into a smoothie. around 5:30 to 6 I may eat sprouted brown rice and (cooked) beans like lentils, adzuki, etc. I'll cube 1/4 avocado and mix that in with cilantro, or various other veggies.
