What honey do i buy. There are a few out there, but when i asked at my local health shop for RAW honey the woman had no clue what I was asking for. She recomended Dark Honey for its antioxident content, but is it raw?

Also how much is too much?

I use Y.S. Organic Bee Farms Raw Honey and Really Raw Honey...both are great...I prefer the latter but can't always get it here. I eat a spoonful every day for its health-giving properties...more if I feel like I am coming down with a cold.

I think the best honey in the world is Apitherapy Honey from Honey Gardens in Vermont. They may ship internationally too! It's like eating flowers and you get that lovely layer of propolis on top. So delicious!

if you can, try and find a local honey producer. I buy local honey from small producers as they are almost always raw, small producers tend to use cold extraction techniques.

James, have you tried looking in Swansea market, one of the stalls may sell local honey

Good idea. I buy my fruit, veg, nuts and seeds from there. I'm sure they'll sell seaweed too. Swanseas famous for its Lavabread.

when I was at the shop I bought some manuka honey. Its lovely, but it doesn't say if its raw or not. Had some after some soup today and it gave me a massive "feel good" high for an hour or so. Haven't craved sugar all day since.

Thanks for the websites, Reesh and ACVille !

I've tried a couple of raw honeys and have been disappointed. Looking forward to farmer's market. Perhaps a beekeeper in my area might have some left over from last year's 'crop'.

I got spoiled from raising my own bees and having raw honey all the time.
It's the same difference as growing own veggies/fruit and purchasing from a store. Just doesn't hit the spot. I sure miss that fresh taste.

I really can't fathom anyone being disappointed by Apitherapy. Their northern raw is my favorite. Before raw I would have it on toasted bread with almond butter and it was better than dessert :D

(practically) Right around the corner from me! Oh they're the best!

I'm a big fan of Wee Bee honey from New York too. It's best to get local for regular use, but it never hurts to try something "imported" now and then!
