has anyone had a lump in armpit? if so did it go away. A year ago i started training for a marathon. When the workouts got intense and around my period the lump was big. but after my period it went down in size so i thought it was swollen lymph gland. I plan on going to doctors this week to get it check out but i am looking for your experiences cuz at moment i am freaking out that it may be cancer.

It's probably not cancer. Try and relax until you see the doctor.

could be only a minor thing like a blocked or infected sweat gland or it could be something serious...do you wear antiperspirant ? check the label and see if it has aluminium in it.

The fact that the lump is coincidental with your training suggests it isn't cancer and most likely related to increased sweating.

thank you. i use natural antiperspirant with no aluminium. when I knit it grows, when i excerise it grows and when i get my period it grows so i am trying to stay positive that it is swollen gland. i look searched online and noticed that alot of people have same concern. i dont skin brush which i should start doing.

sounds like it is just a blocked gland...

I know you were asking Kaleboy, but heres my thoughts on it. I would try oil pulling for a while. Increased lymph action from it is sure to benefit a little in helping flush it out. You have lots of lymph glands in your neck that get exercised and pumped during pulling and they aren't far from the armpit....Sounds like you are adequately active, but were you not, or even if, a rebounder is great for stimulating the lymph system.

Of course you want to find out if it is not anything serious but if just a swollen gland, I wouldn't worry. I get them in my neck during mosquito season, with some food allergies, etc. Possible you have something you react to in the similar way.

no I dont...but my first instinctive response would be to stop shaving under there (if you do) and to stop using the spray until it clears up...also obviously you need to get it checked by the doc to determine what it is.

There's no such thing as a "natural" antipersperant. Stopping oneself from perspiring is, by its very nature, unnatural. How to unblock it? Stop blocking it with stuff that stops you from perspiring. If you find out it's not cancer, get yourself a deep lymphatic massage.

I've presented many lumps to M.d's and naturopaths over the years, and they ve never even bothered to test them, so I have up worrying.

kaleboy and streetsufer,

i wasnt a heavy exceriser before. so that's why i think it is block/swollen. it will flare right before my period. but goes back down and then it is hard 1/2 of pea size. my body like most women do a heavy detox but when i look up the symtoms online they say it could be inflame breast cancer. i am waiting for doctors to call me back. but if i have to go get it check out i hate for them to poke at it or perform mammogram. so i'm hoping if others went thru this what are the other options. i was thinking about going on juice fast for a few weeks to see if i see a difference if not then head to doctors for tests.

I've had one that comes & goes near that area for years and was told it's a fatty tumor. The best advice I was given was to use pure french green clay mixed with water to cover it and leave it on overnight. Usually it goes away pretty quickly and stays away for a long time.

My brother has one of those. I could give him some green clay to decrease it's size.
