Only if you don't change the ingredients. I'm thinking not to concern yourself. Your body will just not want any when "too much" happens.

If you're liking them, that's a good sign. I get tired of them so I follow my intuition and eat my fruit and don't blend.

I agree. Sometimes I'll have what tastes like the best meal ever over and over again and then suddenly, I know I'm done with it. My body will say it's done with that and I'll put down my spoon and move on to different meals! :banana

I am so glad you posted this! I was wondering the same thing. I go thru a few pounds of spinach per week in salads and smoothies. My favorite green smoothie is spinach, coconut water, banana, and watermelon. Yum!!
But it seems to be working for me. A few days ago, I got my blood work back - my triglycerides dropped 81 points since May! :woot:

I don't know the answer to that but that sure does sound yummy! Do you use plain almond milk?

I always buy a different selection of greens and fruits every time I go to the store. I know you can't over do green smoothies, but just alternate ingredients!
***Spinach has oxalic acid in it. Some people are more sensitive to it than others. But about a year ago, I made green drinks (not greens smoothies) with spinach as my base for two days in a row. Not knowing I was sensitive to oxalic acid, I ended up in the hospital with a urinary tract infection (peeing blood!) eeeeek:confused::confused::confused: Not to mention that you'll get a wider range of vitamins and nutrients from a variety. Good luck!!

I wouldn't worry about overdoing it. I tend to fall in love with a smoothie or dish, and eat it every day for a while, eventually I get tired of it and find something new and yummy.... call me fickle :)
I found this in another thread here cos I've been suffering from kidney problems the past couple weeks... I have been vegetarian all my life, vegan for the past 2 years and raw vegan for a large part of that period too... It's very sad to think it was caused by consuming too many greens but I can't find any other reason for it since I don't consume anything else that typically causes kidney stones...

Sometimes when I eat a lot of celery I feel like my kidneys hurt. I don't know why. So I dont eat much.

Hey Jazzy! Sorry for the delay! I make homemade almond milk....soak almonds, peel em, blend with 1 date and tsp vanilla, strain. yummmmmmmmmmmmm
Sure, you can definitely overdo green smoothies, just as you can overdo any food, no matter how nutritious it might be.
Personally, I learned the hard way that too much green smoothie per day weakened my digestion quite dramatically (yes, I am well aware that this appears to be at odds with Victoria Boutenko's assertions regarding stomach acid etc. in her book 'Green For Life').
Everything in moderation, and when you do consume green smoothies, do be sure to thoroughly ensalivate each and every mouthful, so as to correctly start the enzymatic digestion process. You may find it helpful to 'eat' your smoothies with a metal spoon - it seems (even if only in a Pavlovian manner) to promote good salivation.
You may also (in addition, NOT 'instead of' thorough, disciplined, ensalivation) take a good digestive enzyme with each smoothie (Enzymedica 'Digest Gold' and 'Doctor's Best' are two good options).
Based upon personal experience, I learned not to let my enthusiasm cloud my judgment - my own physiology taught me over time that any more than a combined total of a pint of smoothie a day was counter-productive. You might find you can consume more without any apparent ill-effect but I experienced no apparent ill-effects, for well over a year, and then things became very apparent indeed.

What were the effects you noticed after the year?
