what are your thoughts on this?

my enjoyment of melon skyrocketed when i stopped putting it in the fridge and no longer got brain freeze when I ate it. Maybe I will find the same with cucumber.

I LOVE your pic! :)

We grew cucumbers in our organic garden last year and ate them at room temperature and they were amazing. I see what you mean about leaving them in the fridge. I prefer them at room temperature since they're tastier that way.

i keep mine in the fridge... but i buy in bulk so perhaps they stay fresh longer chilled???

i don't think it matters though... (i've never seen a 'refrigerate when opened' label on one )

Most fruit is best served at room temperature. But I like cold smoothies!

well, I just had a cucumber salad which consisted of:-

1 full cucumber sliced
1 tps honey treacled over it
half a handful of goji berries sprinkled over (honey makes them stick)

the cucumber was at room temp and was much easier/pleasurable to eat! ;)

so I think i'll keep them in the fridge but take them out an hour or so before.

If I use cucumbers in a melon smoothie, it's kinda nice when they're cold from the fridge, but I find if I'm having them in salads they're nicer at room temperature. If they're too cold, it seems to take the flavour away, and they become blander. That cucumber/honey/goji salad sounds good!
