do you all sprout regularly? i've been buying the little cube pkgs of sprouts at my co-op for a buck, but thinking i should start my own. also, i've yet to sprout beans or seeds. i would really like to make my own hummus. it seems simple enough, but i am a bit hesitant...

any tips? does it usually work?

I sprout a 50-50 mix of alfalfa & clover every 3 days or so (half gallon at a time). I've had 100% success rate sprouting using mason jars for most all of my sprouting.

I sprout buckwheat in a nut milk bag though since it needs to be rinsed so thoroughly.

Really - just give it a try, it's SO easy! You might like to take a look at YouTube as Sproutpeople (they also sell wonderful seeds - I just rec'd an order from them last week) have 15 how to sprouting videos.

Here's my "sprouting station" that I snapped last weekend. These are just alfalfa & clover sprouts in this picture. *Ü*

Oh yeah, tips.

I have 5 of the 'easysprout' containers which are available online. We find them so easy to use we sprout alot more than we would without them.

We always have a batch or two of alfalfa and broccoli on the go. Lentils for some of Alissa's salads and plenty of buckwheat to be dehydrated for power/energy bars.

Other than growing more and more leafy greens sprouting is the most important habit we have for getting tonnes of nutrition.

Don't give till it gets very easy for you coz it'll give you so much for so little.
