Used Vitamix blender -- need advice

Hey folks,

I'm shopping the ol' Craigslist for a used vitamix. I see a "Vitamix Drink Machine" selling for just $200 with two containers. Seems like a deal.

What are the good questions to ask the blender owner? It's a commercial vitamix and the owner says it's used for smoothies.

Are those commercial vitamix blenders they use to make smoothies at coffee shops capable of making nut butters and such?

It appears that it's rough approximation of a model is the commercial "Vitamix Drink Machine"

If that is the case and you think it could really do as well as the home edition, it seems like a steal!

ask them if it is in good working order and why they're selling it...unless you can go and physically see it it is a bit risky. But if you do buy it offer them $150 first.

If it has only been used for smoothies then it should be in ok condition hence the asking price...

i actually did get it, the people were super awesome. an older couple living in this amazing farm oasis in rural RURAL missouri. It's not a variable speed vitamix, but it's got two 64 oz pitchers with ice blades. We tested it at their house. Basically they have a 5200 and their daughter found the Drink Machine at a commercial sale for $200 to be a "back up" but they decided they really didn't need it so they sold it.

The only problem? Somewhere between their house and mine I lost the drive socket! I ordered a new one, but I was really looking forward to using it last night lol. Ah well. At least drive sockets are just 10 bucks or so.

Vitamix waranty are uncredible so even though something isn't right you can have the service i believe. You can get replacement with the container and no question ask

It is a good deal at that price.

Ask why they are selling

Vitamix are reliable machine and last forever.
