I have been raw mostly for the past year (apart from a few 'blips'), Over the past month I have moved to low fat high fruit and eat simply. Since going high fruit my skin on my face has become very dry, before raw my skin was pretty oily.
I stopped using my usual cleanser which was an all natural clay and almond light scrub as my skin was just tight and uncomfortable. I tried cleansing with coconut oil, but this made my skin ever drier and gave me the sensation as though i'd put some harsh chemical on my skin. I've tried using an all natural face balm too, but it doesn't relieve the dryness.
So i've decided to stop using products on my skin all together and just wash with water, so far still dry but it's only been a few days.
I drink plenty of water too, so don't think it's dehydration.
Has anyone had similar problems? I'm hoping that eventually my skin will balance out and stop being so dry. I never expected this as i've always had problems with oily skin, never dry!
Can anyone offer any advice?

There's your answer! Animals in nature know that fruit is (mostly) summer food.... fattier/heavier foods are winter foods.
In summer, I'm pretty much an all fruit person. In winter, even here, in SoCal, I tend to eat heavier, fattier foods.
We, as humans, read to much and confuse ourselves instead of looking to nature.

Thank you Revvell, I am ever trying to live closer to natures rhythms and be in touch with what I call my 'primal energy' that knows instinctively about these things. I just need a little reminder now and then!
I'll try adding some heavier foods back into my diet.

I am low fat all year around and I tend to have dry skin below my knees but my face is great. I never use anything other than water on it.

well, your body needs fats so try eating at least an avocado a day and that will most likely improve the texture of your skin. dry skin is a result of harsh chemicals or not enough raw plant fat in the diet. hope this helps!!

Yes! I was going to suggest getting a bit more fat, too. I notice the same in my skin when I don't get enough.

Perhaps in addition to the avocado mentioned above, eat some ground flax and walnuts for Omega 3's.

If the mentioned ways above is not yet work it. I think you should try to take a health supplement. I know a supp. but i don't know if it's available worldwide. Try to check it out for the Hair, Skin and Nails Factor supp. for you to have a compete info about the supp. I've suggested.

I have the same issue! very dry and flaky scalp and face! I just started taking MSM and aloe vera both internally and externally. I eat plenty of fats and oils including coconut + olive oil, avocados, nuts and seeds. Very confused and frustrated! Let me know if you find anything that works for you!

I currently use a moisturizer and it is somewhat effective, but the underlying cause of dry skin is my main concern.
I feel that my change in diet (vegetarian, 40-70% raw) may have caused the dry skin, and it seems others on this thread think the same.
It's not the weather, as I have had the issue for thru the winter and summer. I have a humidifier, and regularly consume oils, nuts, seeds, avocados, fruit, greens and drink lots of water!
