Welcome welcome welcome!!! :excited:
Welcome to the 30 day challenge. :eat I know this month has already begun but I want to take a moment to welcome you all to our new monthly format.
We are going to have one thread per month (I may split it into two if it gets too long) so we can create a community of support within this challenge. You can join this thread at any time during the month. Don't be shy... we love new posters!!! So if you want to join us... please do!
I welcome people who are already 100% raw to join in the conversation - supporting our challengers in their quest! :cheer:
This thread is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
I will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month. If I forget... send me a quick email and remind me... I'll get the challenge thread online for you quickly.
The focus of the monthly challenge is on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, don't beat yourself up over it or dwell on it - but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going! This thread is about celebrating what you are eating that IS raw!
I welcome you all to share pics of your dishes, ask questions, share what you are consuming (as long as it's raw). We are here to listen to your emotional and physical challenges. So share share share!!! :hug
OH and the best part of this (not only the support but...) you can subscribe to this thread and get notified every time someone posts to it. This way you will be connected!
So let's get this party started!!!

So... let's all check in. Who's doing the 30 day raw challenge this month?

Good morning
Today's breakfast - Green smoothie: kale, banana, msm (for my knee), chia seeds, cacao powder with maca, water, ice AND my eggplant bacon. Pictures were posted in the other thread last night.
It's not completely ready, but I found enough "crispy" pieces to enjoy as I "checked" on them to consider it breakfast. lol Next time I will use much less cayenne, but overall I LOVE this recipe. This bacon is awesome. My daughter, unbelievably, didn't like it. She said it was "too spicy" and couldn't get past that. It was a tad bit more than I expected, but the yumminess of the other flavors came through VERY well for me. I love it and might just keep this on hand for salads, my pizza or just to chomp on!
If you haven't tried it, you simply must! And guess what y'all? This is the FIRST time I've ever had eggplant in my whole life! Can you believe that?
So many things I declared I didn't like while on SAD w/o even trying them. So glad I'm over being stupid...in that regard anyway. :p
Sidenote: Aleesha, is there a way to merge the past 12 days into this thread?
Have a fabulous day everyone! :throwhearts:

Good Sunday Morning to you all!
Thank you, Aleesha, for creating this community. I feel the energy already!
On My Journey - the eggplant in the pic looked great. It's amazing what we are willing to try and do for this way of eating. There is a raw eggplant dish, even for SAD, (spelling?) ratatouli. And I saw a recipe for chili in a RAW cookbook. Totally different texture.
I pictured a BLT, hold the bread and some raw mayo. Yum! Reminded me of the movie, 5 Easy Pieces (you may be too young). Scene where Jack Nicholson (If you haven't seen the shining, it's a good one, if you like scary movies) orders tuna, and waitress says it only comes as a sandwich, after a few minutes of arguing with her, in total frustration,he orders a tuna sandwich, hold the bread.
Right now, I'm having my quart of water with lemon. I took my flax crackers out of the dehydrator - came out great - will make hummus tomorrow - if I can find raw chickpeas I will soak overnight, otherwise I'll make it with zuchinni. And I finished my apple slices - perfect to take to the movies later today.
Soaked flax seeds remind me of chia seeds that have been soaked, only on steroids! uck! - Am I supposed to rince that uckiness off or keep it so it holds the crackers together??????????????????? I would have thought to rince since its what wwe wanted to get rid off in the first place - so the flax is beneficial, but what do I know...I'm just learning everything and soaking it up like a sponge!
B- juicing oranges with my hubby - and will turn mine into a smothie with collard greens, and I have some strawberries left to use. And, of course, all my other good stuff.
L - something creative since hubby is having something enticing, but full of stick to the ribs gunk. (Come to far to blow how my colon is excited to be raw) Probably a hena shake and fruit salad. Apples with tahini dip.
D- I'm thinking another GS since it will be late after the movie.
And my kiwi or blueberries with dried coconut and agave as a snack.
Have a great Sunday.

The eggplant bacon recipe must be in her new book. I cant find in her LOLF book. Do you just marinate it in shou?
I am going out of town today; so not sure what dinner will entail. But I am having a bunch of sweet juicy orange for breakfast again. I will take some bananas for lunch. Will take some nuts & seeds and more fruit in case there's nothing I can eat where I am going. If there is as least a good salad that would be nice. Oh, I better bring some lemons for it just in case.
Have a nice Sunday all you raw foodies.

Morning Change!!
The goopy stuff is what holds the flax crackers together!!!
I usually make my crackers about 30 min, or so after they soak up the water - they seem easier to spread that way - instead of letting them soake for like a day - they get too compacted.....if yours are more compacted, just add a little water to get them going again!!
What is a "hena shake"?
Can't wait to see what you come up with for lunch!!! :excited:

Hi Pippin!!
Yes, the eggplant bacon recipe is in her new book, but I think if you do a search (with the yellow banana at the top of the page - for "bacon") there will be another recipe that comes up somewhere down the line......
Have a fun day out & about!!!
Great plan for taking Raw yummies with you~:cheer:

Ah look at this gorgeous thread, so much love, light and energy in here! I won't be merging the other threads together into this one. We'll simply begin now and go from here. It's the half way mark for the month which is where I'll be splitting the thread if needed each month.
I may even share some pics of my juices (as per Monk's suggestion to me)... and I'll be here supporting you all as you venture into 100% raw! AND remember... you can continue on past the 30 day mark. Create your own 100 day challenge (for example) and just keep on posting in these threads - it's a great way to show others that 30 days can simply be the beginning!
:excited: let's have a raw party! :throwhearts:

Morning Everyone!!!! :excited:
I am enjoying my cup of tea~
I also had a spoonful of coconut oil this morning.......and......
Today is my Sunday Weigh-In Day!!!!!!!
The Results??????
I've "released" (Aleesha taught me that - we don't want them to "find" us again....like when we "lose" them....lol).....another 1.5#s this week!!!!!!!:woohoo:
Now, that makes a total of 13# since 1/3/11!!!!
You have seen what I eat.....I don't "limit" anything.....just like Alissa says....
This past week was VERY cold & I craved "heavier" foods....nuts, seeds, avocados, coconut oil.....and I STILL released weight!!!!
I believe your body is your best guide - LISTEN TO HER/HIM!!!!
I go through lots of "phases"....sometimes I can't get enough fruit, other times it veggies/greens, sometimes fats...sometimes recipes.....just go with the flow & eat Raw - you are gifting your body with the nutrients it's asking for!!!
While I'm very happy I'm releasing these extra pounds, I am also conscious that it is not the primary focus for eating Raw.....making choices that are full of nutrients that my body is looking for - is what it's all about!! The weight release (and YES! it will happen) - is secondary to the repair/cleansing my body is taking care of first & foremost~:meditating:
So, sorry to turn that into a long post, but I just want everyone to remember why Raw is AWESOME - we are building new, stronger cells with each meal -so, don't worry so much about logistics & rules....JUST EAT RAW!!!!!! :cheer:

AND... I've noticed how much more focused you've been since going raw. Your moods have also been much lighter. So no - it's not just about releasing weight but heck... the releasing of the weight is a beautiful gift!!! Congrats Monk!!!

sweets do you know how to quote multiple posts in one post? you hit the little button with the quotation marks on it. once you get to the last post you want to quote just hit the quote button. a window will open with all the posts listed. you can delete the info you don't NEED to carry over (to make it cleaner and easier for people to follow) and then simply respond between each quoted post.
it's easy. try it out!
and yeah... a banana line how could anyone not love that!!! :wuv

I'm going to have to make this quick because I'm starving. I weighed myself this morning and I lost another 2 pounds!!!! And don't worry, I don't plan on 'finding' them again anytime soon, lol.
My plan for today is below. Nothing fancy as I have a finance midterm tomorrow morning and I won't really have time to fiddle about in the kitchen. Wish me luck!

L- veg juice
D- salad

IF possible ladies... don't add pics in your quotes. it increases the load on the forum... so if you don't mind keeping the pics only in the original post... that would be great!
also adding them as attachments is better... cause it's a smaller load on the forum. ;)

Heey everyone! I'm so glad you all liked the eggplant bacon..however, I must apologize for not having "after" pics. When I got home from church I was starving and pretty much dove face first into the dehydrator and ate it all. Glad my daughter doesn't like it...more for me! Definitely going out to pick up more eggplant. I only purchased one yesterday in case I didn't like it.
Snack/Lunch?? - one tomato with my "italian" seasoning. Either I was even hungrier than I thought or that was the best tomato God ever made!! :D
Energy Drink prior to P90X - 2 bananas, cacao powder with maca, dates, water and ice
Recovery drink (about to prepare now) - kale, spinach, parsley, celery, collard, aloe vera juice, banana, hemp seed, cacao powder with maca, ice and water ETA: MSM for my knee
Keep the RAWking pics and discussions going!! I love the inspiration you all give me! So glad I finally decided to join one of these monthly challenges, it's the biggest party ever! :woot:

LOL - I keep doing that - it's hemp shake. And I had hemp in my mind. Funny, even at te HFS - I asked for henna seds and she took me to the hemp seeds.
My flax crckers came out so good, I've been munching all day. also ate my dried apples. So I'll just make GS for lunch.

Yes, it is from Matthew Kenney--and it surprised me how good it is. No pics --guess I'll have to work on getting pics up.
I thought so!!
Did you drain your zucchini?
I remember mine being quite watery.....
Now I REALLY have to try that bacon!!
Everyone else is doing it......;)
Holy Moly, this has become big family ! I've always wanted a big family, holidays seem to be so much fun.
Congrats Monk and Queen - it is icing on the cake - but its also an achievment !
Oh, I finally learned how to do the quote boxes! I'll try it next time I post.
I ran to the store to get an eggplant - the bacon looks so good I have to try it!
Thanks change!!!
Lol @ "henna" shake!! lol....I was wondering why you'd want to drink natural body/hair dye.....
Are those the Italian crackers I gave you the recipe for? - If so, I'm soooo happy you liked them!!!!
Just make sure you're drinking plenty of water to keep "things" moving....**wink, wink**
Oh wow!
Now you are making eggplant bacon TOO???!!!!.....I just HAVE to do it....Just HAVE to....

My attempt at a sprouted quinoa salad.....my quinoa had very tiny tails....I could've sprouted it another day, but I REALLY wanted it today!! lol :eat
I just added cucumber & tomato....I think I will also add some of my dressing mix: olive oil, lemon, braggs aminos, sesame oil....should be yummy!!
The quinoa are slightly crunchy, but I really like their flavor!!
What did everyone else have today?!

Dinner - Collard wraps :eat
The recipe is 1 Part Rawknitster, 1 part Alissa, and 1part OMJ. That's a lot of parts! lol
I used Rawknitster's mushroom marinade recipe (in my blog; I'll post it here if anyone prefers) but added onions to it and used Coconut Aminos rather than Braggs or Nama Shoyu
I used Alissa's Collard wrap recipe (minus the marinade of course); I used the 3rd blade with my spiralizer that makes the wide cuts (not sure what it's called) cause I couldn't find my shredder. With the avocado, I smooshed half of a diced up jalapeno pepper, chili powder and a dash of sea salt and used it as the base of my wrap. Then it's topped with zucchini, carrot, mushroom and onion mixture and topped with lettuce before rolling. I took the picture before topping with lettuce...just so you could see better.
As you can see in the pic, I used some Carrot "string" from the spiralizer to tie the wrap together. In the pics, one is tied and one is open faced...just so you can see.
I really need to work on making my food look prettier in pics, but I'm pretty much hurrying so I can get to eating it already! By the way, It was DELICIOUS!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v681/Ohappydaye/D2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v681/Ohappydaye/D-1.jpg
I know it looks sparse, but there's more carrot under the mushrooms and much more in the first one... Did I mention I was rushing so I could eat this already?? LMBO

I recommitted to raw last week, and have been lurking on the boards, but didn't want to jump into the challenge thread after it had already started...I was hoping I stayed committed and join next month. But being able to jump in with some accountability will really help me.
My plans for the day:
-banana cashew cocoa shake
-green smoothie w/kale, banana, strawberries, and almond milk
-broccoli salad
-green salad
-apples and oranges
-flax crackers and avocados
I need to get my dehydrator going soon with some sweet treats, as that is what I really am craving.

Breakfast - Green smoothie: kale, banana, chia seed, cacao powder with maca, ice and water
Lunch - I brought 5 huge carrots and 1 large banana and a liter of water. I'm not feeling much like food today. That might change and if so I'll run up to the deli at the local grocery store and make a salad from their bar. But as it stands, I'm just not in the mood for food much. I'll just play it by ear.

Good Morning Everyone, welcome newbies !
Monk, I love quinoa salad ! Yum.
And OnMyJourney, your collard wraps are gorgeous ! I love the color of the carrot ties against the greens.
My eggplant is marinating, will go into dehydrator when I come home for lunch. I'm so excited.
I made more dehydr apples slices.
This is so much fun!
Is there a limit to how much flax crackers I can eat in a day - did a wonderful job last night? They work great on the colon! And I drank loads of water!
Breakfast - GS - collard greens, apple, lemon kiwi, blueberries, and then added all my stuff.
L - will have a salad - romaine, avo, sprouts, etc. and of course flax crackers.
D- Monday's is always a late night - I'll take more flax crackers and the dried apple!
snack - probably blueberries with coconut and agave.
Have a nice day everyone.:throwhearts:

Wow! Lots of wonderful changes this weekend!
Hello everyone and sorry for not posting the last couple of days (no internet access on weekend). Glad to hear everyone had a good, warmer weekend! It is 61degrees here in Maryland. YES, 61 degrees! :woot: Can't wait to get home and go for a walk.
I made the Calzone recipe Friday night but it had to stay in the dehydrator until Saturday. We had it for lunch on Saturday and it came out delish. The only thing was that the crust was way too thick and filling for my liking. So, I took off the top layer and will save that for a future pizza recipe. So, it has been Calzone all weekend, today and tomorrow topped off with Marinara sauce. I am one happy lady!
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z163/dmorales129/a2-1.jpghttp://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z163/dmorales129/a1.jpg
I also made Spicy Curry Kale chips  and ate Collard Wraps and fruit most of the weekend.
Today's Plan:
-Green Juice
-Strawberries & Pineapple for Breakfast
-Calzone with Marinara Sauce (ME FULL!)
-More fruit for dinner or smoothie
Have a Rawkin day, Everyone!!! *HUGS*

Hi everyone! :throwhearts:
I love raw. I've been having a hard time staying raw, but I think I've identified the problem, so I'm back on track. The hardest time of day for me to be on raw is 2:00pm. I'm not sure why, probably because it's working time and leaving time is so far away. But now I bring dates and other fun fruits (like clementines, yay) just for my "danger time." At first I was feeling guilty for reaching for stuff that's high in sugar (there is lot of information out there advocating for an alkaline diet) but for me, the fruits work. It also helps me stay in a good mood so I can get 'her done.
Here's my day so far:
Breakfast: GS
Lunch: Bananas and Chia seed pudding
Snack: 3 clementines
Dinner: Ohhh, I'm going to make this coconut ceviche thing!! I'm so excited about it.
Water: Only 2 glasses today! I definitely need more water pronto
tea: roibus

the fruits will assist you to be alkaline as well. so no worries... eat what you need to to be raw!
a little bag of dried fruits with nuts and seeds may assist you as well. or alissa's fudge balls!!! i know those are one of my fav treats when i'm eating.

I have another big exam tomorrow. GUH what I way to spend valentine's day eh? Studying and writing exams left, right and center?! Oh well... Anyways, I'm just going to have another simple day. Good day to all! I didn't eat anything spectacular today --aww funny as I say that I realize that the fun thing about being raw is that I don't have to be spectacular. I seem to love the simple most of the time---that is what my body seems to like. I remember people on this forum saying listen to your body and I thought--what??? How can my body talk to me??? Well, I now know it does talk to me loud and clear!!!!!!
Anyway, here is my simple eating for today::eatBreakfast --- GS with spinach, apples and bananas --also had pineapple
Lunch-- a huge salad and honey mustard dressing
Dinner-- GS again with all the yummy stuff I had in it this morning :woot:

Happy Valentines day all! :heart
My trip out of town yesterday did not turn out too well.....so........today is cleanse day. Fruit only & tons of water. Depending on how I feel tomorrow, I may do it again.
Today I had 8 kiwis for breakfast, 1lb of grapes for lunch. I went shopping on Saturday and have a ton of fruit options for dinner, but cant seem to make up my mind which I should pick.
I cant believe my man-friend....he KNOWS...what I am doing with my diet, and knows why I'm doing it, yet goes out and buys me a big box of chocolates for V-day. Can you believe that??? I am just thinking "REALLY"!! That unopened box of chocolates will be going straight to the break room promptly when I return to work tomorrow. My co-workers will love me :heart Hee-hee. Oh,wait....,maybe I should re-gift them to my boss. What way to butter her up huh?
The good news is that I released over two point something pounds for a total of about 5 pound since going 100% raw on Jan 30. What is so great, is when I started back 100% raw my focus was not necessarily weight loss, but health issues; even thought I did need to drop about 10 pounds. I'm thinking I may reach by the end of the month.:woot:
Take care all! I'm so glad I'm back today.

Recovery drink after P90X - kale, parsley, lettuce, celery, 3 tablespoons of hemp seed, 2 tablespoons of aloe vera juice, cacao powder with maca, banana, ice and water. Forgot my msm again. My knee is getting stronger despite my memory, and I'm happy about that.

Got home late from the office - checked on my eggplant 'bacon' - it looks great. Even my husband was amazed.
When I turned it, I had to try it even though still moist. But delicious even that way. Coule make something to the effect of eggplant parmigian.
I'll have my husband show me how to take a picture and post it when it is done. I'm so proud of my 'bacon'!
I had this VERY large grapefruit - pulmento ??? not sure of the name.
Can the skin/rind of the grapefruit be dehydrated and eaten? I'd love to have all the bioflavinoids!
Congratulations, Pippin, on your weight loss. It's a gift.

So, I didn't have any breakfast yesterday & slept instead, until I had to get ready for work....
I had odd' and ends' throughout the day....a couple pieces of dried papaya, a couple nuts... some crackers (the jalapeno corn chips)...an avocado...some tea....
This morning I had my cup of tea & my "kitchen sink" breakfast smoothie & a spoonful of coconut oil.....:tea: (hahaha a "tea guy" - Thanks Aleesha!!)

Raw bacon??!! Sounds very interesting...I'll have to search the forum for that recipe :D
Good morning!
Last night I made my 2 little ones' favorite meal - "snack dinner"! Which basically consists of cut up fruit, veggies, avocados, hummus, and flax crackers, and they thought it was a wonderful valentine's treat :heart
I had big plans for meals yesterday (which always seem to fall apart) but instead ate some fruit, green smoothies, and flax crackers with avo. So I'll do the meals today....or maybe not.....
:cold: I'm freezing today, so I'm making granola for the dehydrator, but might just eat it once its warmed up and not ready so I can eat something warm!
Green smoothies, and broc salad also on the menu.
Have a wonderful day!!!

Good morning to all,
Tried another type of grapefruit, quite juicy, but will stick to my ruby reds, I can get 8 for the price of one specialty.
B - the 1/2 grapefruit, juicing with hubby - apples, pear, carrots, beets, collard greens. I'll put mine in the blender to add all my stuff. Some flax crackers
L - BLT ! the 'bacon' came out delicious! Probably could have left it in a little longer to get all pieces crisp - but too eager to eat it!
S - orange
D-bok choy, mushrooms, munch on yellow and orange peppers, flax crackers
S - blueberries, shredded apple, shredded coconut, agave
Woke up late - still too dark in early AM for me - my body still thinks it is middle of the night. Will have to wait on pics for next time.
Plenty of water to wash out the flax. It's working like a charm!

Just a little reminder... we don't share any non-raw portions of our day. Just share the raw. The idea is to focus on the raw. I've edited the post in question and ask that you all remember... this is the RAW food challenge... :excited:

Raw bacon??!! Sounds very interesting...I'll have to search the forum for that recipe
Good morning!
Last night I made my 2 little ones' favorite meal - "snack dinner"! Which basically consists of cut up fruit, veggies, avocados, hummus, and flax crackers, and they thought it was a wonderful valentine's treat
I had big plans for meals yesterday (which always seem to fall apart) but instead ate some fruit, green smoothies, and flax crackers with avo. So I'll do the meals today....or maybe not.....
I'm freezing today, so I'm making granola for the dehydrator, but might just eat it once its warmed up and not ready so I can eat something warm!
Green smoothies, and broc salad also on the menu.
Have a wonderful day!!!
Sounds like great meals Banshee!!! :eat
Good morning!
Today is a wonderful day just like yesterday, tomorrow and every day after that! (Obviously, lots of energy today LOL!)
Eggplant Bacon?! Eggplant is pretty yummy. Okay, we'll have to try that too! *searching for recipe*
So I am sprouting Mung Beans for the 1st time and they're on a roll! Wow, it is so amazing to see things grow from seed to sprout. Ahhh I love you, Mother Nature!!!
Last night I did end up having a smoothie for dinner and water the rest of the night. I woke up late this morning and had no time to make my green juice but that is okay. I'll have it for dinner instead!
Today's Plan:
-Strawberries, Pineapple & banana for breakfast
-2 baby mangoes my grandma brought back from El Salvador (IN HEAVEN!!!)
-Calzone
-Orange
-Spinach Salad
-Green Juice
Keep RAWkin', Beauties!!! *HUGS*
Hooray for energy!!! :excited:
Ohhhhh, mangoes from grandma - those are the BEST!!! Enjoy!!!
That is so good to know Alissa's "bacon" recipe is getting such great reviews!!!!
I can't wait to try it out!!!!
What a yummy day you've had.....glad the flax crackers are "working like a charm"!!!! lol :wuv
Okay, finally got a chance to upload good pics of the Calzone & Kale Chips.

Good to hear how the rest of you are doing.
Today for breakfast I had a GS -- my normal morning drink--hmmm hmmmm --- it had spinach, apples and bananas. What would I do without my bananas?????? :banana Also had pineapple
Lunch-- I had a salad with lettuce, tomato, onions, sprouts-- with an avocado dressing. My first time making that kind of dressing. It is from Alissa's book -- didn't have any cukes so left them out. Very good dressing!!
Dinner-- GS and also the rest of the mac and cheese--- and also had some marianted veggies(red pepper, zucchini, cauliflower, mushrooms)

I'm in. I've not been posting much this month, but I'm still raw.:cheer: Lots of schoolwork and bad weather is messing with my internet time and connection. The longer I'm raw the less I eat, the less I desire to eat and the fewer cravings I have. I try to always keep at least 2 and usually 4 pieces of fruit with me so I don't get hungry, cause when I get hungry is when I have trouble keeping the cravings away. I do need to drink more water though. I do better for a couple days and then fall back to not really drinking enough, but I keep trying. It's so great to see such a great group of people and great dialogue going. I love coming here to visit and see how everyone's doing. Good job to all!:banana

Hello!
Breakfast today was a melon I bought at Costco. No one seemed to know what it was called. I bought a couple of them in hopes they would be good, as they were only $1.50 each!!! Weighing over 3 lbs!! Had I know it would be so good I would have stocked up. Here is a picture; it taste like honeydew.
Lunch was 6 oranges.
Pre-dinner large glass of fresh juice-kale, cucumber, carrot, parsley, and apple.
For dinner I made stuffed mushrooms, kale & red pepper salad, and Moroccan carrots.I didn't have all the ingredients but it still came out pretty good. It was very rich too me, as I usually keep it simple eating just fruits & salads.
P.S. I made banana ice cream with date sauce for dessert. The ice cream was so good that it really didn't need the date sauce.

Today has been so crazy, I'm not sure if I've posted in here or not. I "thought" I had but then when I tried to just now all of the multiple quotes from earlier popped up. Oh well! lol
Breakfast - green smoothie: kale, banana, cacao powder w/maca, ice, chia seed, water ( I think that's it, but can't remember at this hour)
Lunch - salad: romaine lettuce, purple cabbage, broccoli, onion, red, yellow and green pepper with a vinegarette dressing
Energy drink prior to P90X - banana, cacao powder with maca, dates, ice, water
Recovery drink after P90X - lettuce, kale, celery, parsley, cacao powder with maca, ice, water, msm (for my knee), aloe vera juice ...I think that's all.
Dinner - gazpacho topped with chopped cucumber!! Made double batch so I'll have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

Hi Pippin! No, this recipe is from another book "The Everything Raw Recipe Book" by Mike Snyder, Nancy Faass, and Lorena Novak Bull.
Curry Kale Chips
-4 cups of Kale
-1/2 cup of soaked cashews
-2 tbs of lemon juice
-1 tbs of curry powder
-salt to taste
I added in a tbs of Cayenne for a kick. :) They came out delicious!
Separate the kale from the stem into big pieces and set aside in a bowl. Blend all other ingredients together into a smooth, creamy texture and then throw it in to the bowl of Kale, massage through until they're completely covered. I dehydrated them for about 7hrs at 105 degrees because I had the Calzone in there. The recipe calls for 115 degrees for 4hrs.
The calzone *LOOKS* like a lot of work but it is so worth it! It's a lot of food that will last for days and it is absolutely delicious! :)
Enjoy! :)

Wow, everyone's creations look sooooooooo AWESOME!!
I have never been "brave" enough to do much more than granola/cereal, crackers or fruit in my dehydrator. Guess I need to get over that fear and get moving on those recipes!
Yesterday was a good day for me, except the tiredness...I forgot about the initial tiredness at raw start up. But working through it, hoping the next day will be a little better than the last -- knowing it eventually will be.
I had green smoothies, broc salad, cocoa cashew banana smoothies, some apples and avocados, and finally got the granola in the dehydrator.
Spending the day with a little sickie with the stomach bug today, enjoying blueberry and banana smoothies with her.
Other items (hopefully) today:
green smoothie
broc salad
big green salad with avos
apples/bananas
and maybe a frozen fruit and nut ice cream creation later
And Aleesha, my dog goes bonkers for carrots and greens....like begs and runs around/jumping....but the gas she has later could knock you down! I'm feeling your pain (literally :D )
Hope everyone has an wonderful day!

Delise,
Mediterranean Kale Salad
This was the recipe, but I didn't not have all the ingredients. But it was still good.
4 kale leaves
1/12 tsp EVOO
1 1/2 tsp fresh lemon juice
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 red bell pepper, diced
1 tbls raw pine nuts
5 tbls sliced black olives
dash pepper
I sliced the kale very thinly, added EVOO, lemon juice, salt, massaged the kale for few minutes (wish someone would give me a massage): and then mixed rest of ingredients. marinate for 10 min at room temp.
Salad will keep for 3 days.
Enjoy!
P.S. This is only one serving, but you could double or tipple it up. :-)

I have purebred Cavilier King Charles Spaniels--boys. The best dogs I've ever had and well, they, at times at very smelly farts!
Today's food was for breakfast: GS with spinach, pineapple, grapefruit and banana--hmmmm very, very good.
Lunch-- Cut up veggies(cauliflower, red pepper, hmmmmm can't remember what else) but had marinated them with a recipe from Alissa's book and slightly dehydrated them
Dinner-- GS --same as this morning and a salad of apples, broccoli, raisins, and pumpkins seeds. I mixed in an avocado dressing with some salt and pepper.
I surprised myself--- I actually made a concoction that didn't follow any recipe and was good. For some reason, I'm finding I can do this with the raw food!!
HMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm:excited:

The one thing I miss about living in a big city is having restaurants to choose from. St. George has the reputation of restaurants opening and closing. Not enough people to support them, or the food is awful.
The one health food restaurant closed.
But, I love the un-cooking I amlearning - taste great!
B - fruit smoothie - ran out of greens !
L - butternut squash with cinn and agave and rest of eggplant bacon.
D - not sure yet.
S - I made raw brownies -coconut, date, agave/honey,carob. delish
loads of water and flax seed cookies
Hi CIG
I know the feeling! I live in a remote little town, and there is usually a choice of one thing for me on the menu-green salad! lol
Ohhh I must go and get some eggplant, thanks for reminding me about the bacon, my fave!!

my dogs go crazy for tomato and/or tom pulp from my juicer. they loooooooove avocados (not skin or pit). will fight to the death for cucumber. and will happily take any raw fruit or veggies and eat it.
zucchini ends, strawberries, blueberries (huge hit), banana...
oh and lettuce. they literally squabble over this. they looooooooove the crunchy core. love love love it.
and they eat 100% raw... so this is a good thing. they loooove their food!
Aleesha, so funny that your dogs love the lettuce core!!!

Found some baby choi sum, so I made a marinade and they are in the dehydrator right now, so we will see. I have never seen it mentioned here on the forum, do you guys get it over there in the USA? It looks a bit like spinach but the leaves are not as crinkly, and it tastes a bit sweeter than spinach.
Today was a good day! Had a huge green smoothie for breakfast, grapes, a bought spirulina smoothie,
Dinner was a red bell pepper and flaxseed soft tortilla stuffed with lettuce, marinated zucchini strips and some more sliced red pepper just for colour :-)
It's really filling!
Have a good day everyone! :heart

Good morning!!!
I started my day by listening to an Abraham-Hicks presentation and WOW! What a great day to start the day!
It's almost Friday. Wow, another week flying by. Last night I did end up just having the most delicious cacao smoothie. Last night's Almond Mylk was amazing and the taste was so overpowering (in a good way). I did leave the almonds soaking for longer than usual (overnight). My Honey got me 2oz of Vanilla Bean Powder and... Oh my Goodness!! It was so rich and delish.
My Mung bean sprouts are finally ready and from 1/2 cup of beans I got 4 cups of sprouts. :duh Aside from juicing them, throwing them in salads and making salads do you do anything else? *searching for recipes now* I do want to eat the asap since they're fresh and delicious.
Today's Plan:
-Green Juice (Lots Broccoli, celery, 1 apple, 1 orange, garlic, ginger & jalapeño) I wasn't sure how this was going to come out but the broccoli needed to be eaten/juiced. The juice came out REALLY, really good.
-Strawberries, pineapple & bananas for breakfast
-Spinach salad... Well, more like Spinach with my "Sprout Salad". LOL! + 1 avocado
-Orange
-Smoothie for dinner
-Ripe Mangoes
Tonight I have lots to do since I didn't get a chance to do anything with the almond pulp and did not want to run the 9-tray D just for that. So we gotta fill it up today! I am thinking... Cookies, Kale Chips & Banana Flax Crackers. YEAH!
PIPPIN: I love your Soup! Pineapple, Tomatoe, Romaine... Gotta try that! :) Thanks!
MONK: That salad loos DELICIOUS!!! Yummmm! You don't have to move anywhere... We'll come stay with you!
RENNEH That is so awesome! Can't beat living your passion and helping others. Keep it up! You're making a big difference. *hugs*

Hey everyone!
Yesterday was crazy! Got home did my P90X (oh yea!) and the evening got away from me.
Energy drink before P90X: banana, cacao powder w/maca, dates, water, ice, and msm (for my knee)
Recovery drink after P90X - kale, collard, msm, aloe vera juice, blackberries, strawberries, celery, cacao powder with maca, ice, water. I was all out of banana and I've stopped using hemp seed after my workouts because I read that hemp protein slows down digestion after a workout. So I've stopped that for now until I do further research and am relying on the aminos in the greens above. Need to get more parsley and lettuce, I'm all out and didn't realize it.
Dinner - 2 small avocados smooshed (giggles) with a fork, with a tad of sea salt, jalapeno pepper, and onion eaten with a large cucumber sliced up. It was soooooo delicious!

This is not a good site to read when I'm hungry - I want to make everything pictured and described! Monk's salad looked great enough, but the way Renee described it, touched all the senses!
I made juice this AM - apple and japanese pears
lunch was a kiwi, an apple (too busy to want to do more and became too hypoglycemic from being out of ofc to long, needed to let the fruit do its thing)
but now it is dinner time - I have an avocado out with some tomoatoes ready for the Braggs and lemon and flax seed crackers. And I'm thinking hemp shake. But I wish I had the fresh vanilla powder - I could taste it when I read the post.
I made a new batch of flax seed craxckers where I mixed the light colored seed with the dark - and am not liking it as much as just dark. Much more flavor, atleast to me.
I had some fresh pineapple when I first got home while I was cutting it up.
Oh, I made some apple flax crackers with raisins and coconut. They didn't have enough sweetness to them, so I'll break it up into granola and mix in some agave and put back into dehydr. They looked really good when I took them out this AM, I had my hubby take a picture, I was so proud, until we tried one later in the day. Atleast I can save them. I had just as much fun preparing them, except I don't like to waste food or the high cost of ingredients.
I made some brownies with coconut that tasted just like almond joys (Made with carob). My husband who said in the past carob will never touch his lips, devoured them. Will make more and hide them!
Well, I think hubby is just about finished cooking his SAD meal, oh so dead, so I'm headed into the kitchen to do up the real thing!

Hope all is going well with you.
Breakfast: 3 large grapefruit
Lunch: 2 large mangos (should have been 3, but I had to toss one because it was all dark & yucky looking inside) I just hate when happens, and a banana.
And tonight: right now I am having fresh juice of carrot, kale, cucumber, celery, red pepper, and lemon. Dinner will be using up my left over sunflower pate & kale salad from the other night, along with some sliced cucumber & tomato.
That's all folks! :goodday:

Energy drink prior to P90X - banana, dates, cacao powder w/maca, ice, water,
Recovery drink after P90X - collard, cacao powder with maca, banana, ice, water, msm (for my knee), aloe vera juice
My drinks are a little lacking because I forgot to grind my flax seeds and to pick up more celery, parsley and lettuce after work today. Late meetings had me rushing...I hate rushing.

I'll start posting here on Monday (won't be online this weekend). ....anyway, wanted to share - I made some chocolate covered strawberries for the grandkids for Valentines Day. I cut the starwberries in half before I drizzled the choc on them (cocoa, agave, coconut butter) so it would be easier for them to eat. Well, they didn't eat all of them, and because I cut them, they were getting watery looking. So, the next morning, I put them into the blender with some ice cubes and a little water. OMG! It was sssoooo good. Even though I had this one for breakfast, it will be a regular dessert from here on out - and I can't wait to make it for the grandkids this weekend. ....and as soon as I get some cherries, it will be chocolate cherry shake time.

I'M HAVING A HUGH LUNCH !
First time loading a pic, too many steps, I'm exhausted, let alone I haven't done any work this AM trying to figure out how to do this.
Is it always this difficult, or can someone teach me an easier way and how to reduce picture to 1/4 of this siz???!!
Anyway, this is my lunch for today. Yum. I'm sure everyone can make out what it is!
I had two more pictures of my apple/coconut flax crackers and then making it into granola, but I'd have to sell my business to have the time to work on posting them!!

Monk - the pic of your produce would make a great jigsaw puzzle!
When you post your pics is it an easy process ? - I went thru so many steps today for one pic, I got discouraged. And I'd love to share my meals with everyone.
I'm sipping on a hemp shake with added strawberries and carob.
I just finished making my tomoato sauce for tomorrow dinner - was too full from lunch to eat a big dinner.
I also put kale chips in the dehydrator made with a tahini dressing - so what didn't fit on the two trays, I munched on. The kale was nice and soggy! I followed the recipie with tahini, lemon, apple cidar vinegar, and namu shoyu.
Does Nana Shoyu need to be refrigerated once opened?
I was about to make zuchinni humus for tomorrow's lunch for my new flax crackers, but got to tired. Besides all I prepared for self, I made my hubby's dinner that took a little prep.
See you all tomorrow! Sweet dreams.

I don't think Nama Shoyu has to be put in the fridge, but check the label - it would say, if it needs to be....
Have you made the zucchini hummus before?
I think I made it once & it turned out too watery....hmmm....let me know how your turns out.....

Hi everyone!
collard greens and choi sum are one and the same thing! I love google!
I made some kale chip recipe using collard greens and it was Yummy, and also did an experiment with some baby spinach.... and shall we say.... they might come in handy for a soup or something....not too good on their own, but then again I did use a VERY heavy hand when I added curry... No sireee, no handstands in the shower for me!!!! Ooookay, :tmi:
My daughter is into the raw thing, she is busy making crackers as we speak! I am super impressed!:woot::cheer::woot:

Breakfast - Green smoothie: collard, msm, cacao powder with maca, aloe vera juice, chia seed, hemp seed, ice, banana and water
So far that's it...about to take the dog for a walk and come back in and do Yoga X I suppose. I really don't want to , as it's my least favorite. However, since it's my recovery week...I suppose I'll follow directions. (We'll see, maybe I"ll just do it this evening instead)

Good to know collard greens work well, too - cause I love collard greens!
My dehydrator will be running round the clock now between this and my crackers, and desserts, and ready to try sweet potato chips - my mandolin plus other goodies are coming from amazon next week.
I woke up very late so just juiced oj and grapefruits. Had a bit of granola and blueberries.
We had to get some work done on the road so took kale chips and flax crackers with me. Getting ready to make lunch. Will do the hummus with romaine lettuce and the trimmings.
It's been a rough day, I feel a bit sad watching my hubby do emotional eating since he is feeling sorry for himself. Glad I'm not joining him in the pity eating. All I can do is give him his space while he sorts things out.
Dinner will be the speghetti squash and fresh tomato sauce I made.

Okay!!
Now it's picture time!!
Here is breakfast:
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll105/monkapotapus/2-19-11001.jpg
I was right there with you pippin!
This is a blend of 8 oranges & 3 grapefruits....fresh squeezed baby!! lol.....the small glass is for my DBF....
I also had 2 cups of tea this morning....
Here is lunch:
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll105/monkapotapus/2-19-11002.jpg
Jalapeno corn chips (Raw food Real World) & smooshed (OMJ) avocado, sprinkled with nutritional yeast...
Then I got busy doing some "uncooking" in the dehydrator!!
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll105/monkapotapus/2-19-11004.jpg
Top shelf is Ani Phyo's Black sesame sunflower bread (page 153 in "Ani's Raw Food Kitchen) - very easy recipe to make!! All you need is a bowl - no equip, except the dehydrator!!! It even "rises" a little bit!!!
Next shelf is Ani's Sun Burgers (page 194 same book - even though the book says it's on pg 192 in the back.....) - again a very simple recipe to make!!
The next 2 shelves are the jalapeno corn chips from Raw Food, Real World (page 297).....
I am making 1 tray in to "tortillas" & the other in to chips!!
Next, I cut up/washed a bunch of fruit to make some fruit salads!!
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll105/monkapotapus/2-19-11005.jpg
They are made up of green grapes, red grapes, strawberries, blueberries & pineapple....Yummmmmm
I also made a batch of Rich cheddar dip (on this site as "Da bomb" dip, or something like that!)
I'll show you a "finished" picture of the sun burger soon......

Nice & soft.....
I will store the rest in a ziplock bag in the fridge:
http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll105/monkapotapus/Sunburgers2-19-11003.jpg
Here it is all put together!!!
I spread some rich cheddar dip on both pieces of "bread", then put some romaine lettuce down...then the sun burger.....cherry tomato slices on the other piece....I can't wait to dig in!!!
I'll let you know how it is......

great glasses for the juice. seems we were all on the same page - I juiced fresh oj and grapefruit this AM.
Your pictures are so good I want to reach in and pull that sandwich ou to eat.
There was just a hint of taste of the apple cider vinegar. But I like that taste. I also made kale chips which I put oil, lemon, celtic seasalt, agave.
They came out looking beautiful, shrunk alot. I tahini ones are my favorite so far.
The hummus I made came out delicious - I couldn't find zuchinni, but walmart had something (don't remember name) thaat looked like baby zuchinni. It was much milder and not as watery.
By the time I finished lunch and test tasted everything - I didn't have room for dinner. So I had an apple and a piece of chocolate with ch almonds and craisins I made for hubby. (Thank goodness he snapped out of it)

Good morning, everyone. Happy Sunday.
It's snowing here in St. George. It melts before it hits the ground. I laughed the first year I moved here and everyone got frantic when it snowed -it was only an inch. They should visit NY, or anywhere there is amazing heights of snow!
After my quart of water, I had pineapple.
While I was making the cauliflower popcorn, I couldn't resist and had a little of that. The I juiced apples and pears and lemons and ginger with hubby.
Lunch will be alot of greens since I haven't had any in juice with the rest of my hummus.
We're headed to B&N so I'll take some kale chips with me.
Dinner, by hook or by crook, I'm having speghetti squash and tomoato sauce I made. The garlic has probably made it super strong by now!!
Kiwi later in eve.

Lunch will be mangos, and I think I will just have bananas for dinner. Not feeling to good so will keep it simple today. But I do want to get my kale chips made.

I'm back after way too long of slipping and sliding. It feels good to be raw again! I'm on day 4!
Breakfast was 2 bananas with a mixture I made last night (ground almonds, dates, and coconut) YUM! Also my morning drink of hot water, ACV and honey.
Lunch -- just finished a large smoothie (spinach, orange, banana, grapes, sesame seed, sunflower seed, flax seed, and chia seed) oh, and a handful of almonds.
I haven't gotten into creating exotic recipes this time around. Needing to keep it simple. So I snack all day on fruit and nuts.
I need to go back and read this entire thread -- when I've got a hour or so. After reading two pages I've discovered you people really do support each other -- looking forward to that -- I think.
Haven't planned supper yet, can't get my head wrapped around that and plan for the familie's meal too. Actually, I'm kind of a "go by the seat of my pants" gal right now. Hopefully this raw will clear my head up and I'll get my act together.

We're headed to B&N so I'll take some kale chips with me.
Dinner, by hook or by crook, I'm having speghetti squash and tomoato sauce I made. The garlic has probably made it super strong by now!!
Kiwi later in eve.
Hi Change!!
Did you receive my email?
We are having a blizzard here.....this morning I could see my grass....now it's covered with about 4" of snow...just in the last 4hrs....we are supposed to get 8-12" with winds 25-35mph.....ughhhhh
How did you like the cauliflower popcorn?!
Mmmmm I love apple/pear juice.....yummmm
Have fun today!!
Lol - now eat your spaghetti for dinner!!!! :eat
Can someone please tell me how long I should dehydrate my kale chips? I want them very crispy. Thanks.
I woke up with a sore throat today. Dont know what is up wit that, but I have not eaten yet today, but I am about to have oranges for breakfast. Lunch will be mangos, and I think I will just have bananas for dinner. Not feeling to good so will keep it simple today. But I do want to get my kale chips made.
Thanks!
Hi pippin!!
(((Hugs))) I'm sorry you are not feeling well
Do you have any apple cider vinegar? If you do, mix some of it with honey - warming it up can help too.....or, gargling with warm salt water....feel better sweetie~
As for the kale chips - in the teriyaki one - she says to dehydrate it over night to make them crispy...be sure to turn them, so they don't stick to the teflex sheet.....
Welcome BDraw!!
So glad you've joined us on the 30 Day Thread!!! :woohoo:
I go through streaks of wanting things "simple" and then wanting to make recipes.....I'm in my "recipe" streak right now....lol
Sounds like you had a delicious smoothie today!
I usually don't know what I'm having for dinner either....just wing it~:eat

So, today was my Sunday "weigh in" day......it was a draw...nothing lost, nothing gained....lol....well, it IS "girl time"....:wuv
Today I've had......
-1 cup of tea
-1 sunburger on black sesame sunflower bread
-1 kombucha (homemade)
-small bowl of leftover teriyaki kale - the ones that wouldn't fit on the trays....lol....oooooooh, soooooo yummy - that would make a wonderful dressing!!! (I put the link on the previous page).....
I need to bottle my 3 1/2 gallons of kombucha that's ready to go & then get the next batches going!!! Oh, how I love kombucha!! :throwhearts:
I am also going to make a batch of rawritos:
http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=25510
These will be for my BF - he LOVES them & could eat them by the "bucket full" as he puts it.....lol....
I used to love them too, but now I find them too heavy for me & I prefer the corn chips & their lightness.....
Hope everyone is having a lovely afternoon!!
We are getting a BLIZZARD.......not a fan.....

Your chips look so nice & neat. My were just kinda jammed on the tray LOL. I didn't see your post about turning them so they don't stick...guess what? Yep, but I just used a spatula to loosing them from the tray in order to turn them.
I just finished a glass of juice; carrots, spinach, lettuce, parsley, celery, bell pepper, and cucumber. (I think that was all) Oh, and I used the stems from the kale I used for chips.
I am going to feast on bananas for dinner. I had oranges for breakfast & mangos for lunch.
Thanks for the well wishes Monk!

Hey Monk,
Did you know that when you quote you can trim the quote to just what you wanna reference, instead of leaving the entire message? ...that way the reply will not be as long. Just remember to leave the beginning "quote" and ending "quote"... ;)
Hey Rawbies!!!
Ok, now that I've got a minute, I can share with you what I've been up to the last few days!!! I did a Raw Food Demo for **20** people!!!!!!!! Here's what I served:
Green Smoothie w/Spinach, Banana, Mango
Raw Fajitas w/Alissa's Raw Sour Cream)
Broccoli Salad (from Alissa's Calzones)
Chocolate Truffles
Banana/Strawberry Icecream
I also had samples of: Granola (RFFE), Flax Crackers (LOLF) w/Grezzo Cheese :woot: and Onion Bread!!!!
(soon as I get to the computer I will make the photos smaller cuz I'm using my phone.....)

Hi Monk - yep, got it! Will get my pics up on the thread in the morning.
One batch of kalechips I made looks just like yours - but I like the cheesy ones much better.
The popcorn came out great. I had to do everything in my power to not eat it all in one sitting! That's a whole head of cauliflower, of course, shrunk up!:encore:
I sure hope that's okay, healthwise. I may not have the willpower next time I make it.
So, new batch of flax crackers are done, and all is out of the dehydrator. I'm going thru withdrawal and want to keep 'uncooking'. :excited: This is me all pumped up and ready to go!I was going to make the burgers, but too much seeds for me.
The speghetti squash was so,so. Next time I'll use zuchinni. The remainder of the tomato sauce (which was delicious) can be used to make brucetta on jicama slices.
Hi BDraw - welcome to the group. It's alot of fun here ! And very supportive.
Pleasant dreams, everyone, and stay warm!

Hey everyone!
I'm not sure what I posted yesterday, I think it was just my morning smoothie. Well, I skipped lunch - by accident of course. The day got away from me and I wasn't thinking about food.
Apparently, I was very focused on my spring cleaning because I let my P90X workout get away from me too and I didn't get it in until 11pm!
I had a quick energy drink before hand since it was so late and I didn't want to give out - banana, cacao powder, dates, water, ice
Recovery drink was very much in need after Core Synergistics - kale, celery, pineapple, msm (for my knee), cacao powder with maca (just a little since it was late), ice and water
Today's food:
Breakfast - Green smoothie: kale, banana, chia seed, hemp seed, cacao powder with maca, ice, water DELICIOUS
Snack - 5 carrots
Lunch - I threw the following into my bag: a small avocado, two roma tomatoes, a large cucumber, nutritional yeast and oregano. I might cut all of this up and make a salad topped with the seasonings.
Have a RAWking day everyone! ..I really need to go catch up in here! :excited:

I've been uncooking like crazy! Had a 3 day weekend so decided to make some things: :eat
candied nuts, sweet potato chips, flax seed crackers, applesauce, apple cobbler and broccoli dip
Today Breakfast-- GS and banana pudding (bananas, carob powder, cocunut)
Lunch-- nice big salad with avocado dressing
Dinner-- GS and apple cobbler:dance::dance:
I was VERY confused last week trying to find the separate days. NOW I see what in the world is going on.
Still very raw!
But Veeeeeeeeeeery busy. Finally made a Facebook page for Uncooking101, a Twitter page too, and on top of it my hubby bought a cafe that is serving RAW FOODS! So, needless to say between those things, my school, and everything else about being an entrepreneur (like working a lot when new and exciting things are happening!)... I haven't been around.
I hope you all are doing WONDERFULLY!
I will stop back in another day... just at this moment had you on my mind and decided to drop by for a quick hello! HI!

Usually I fix raw items over the weekend to help me through the week, but this weekend was so busy, that I'm just gonna wing it this week. I'm glad that someone said that they only wanted the raw food stuff listed here, that if you don't eat raw, don't post it - because I used to read this and think that was all people were eating. I didn't realize that they just weren't posting items they ate that weren't raw.
Breakfast - large green smoothie. DH makes me a smoothie every morning to drink in the car on the way to work because I'm always rushing to get out the door. Today, it was pineapple, apple, peaches, strawberries, spinach, blueberries, banana. Yummy, yummy!
Lunch - just an avocado. Usually, I eat a lot more, but just wasn't hungry at lunch. ....then I snacked all afternoon on dried pineapple (dehydrated 3 pineapples this past weekend) and dried mango.
Dinner - Large broccoli salad. (fresh broccoli, raisins, sunflower seeds with mashed avocado all stirred together). I love this stuff. Sounds gross to me with I think about the ingredients separately, but together, yummy!
Tonight, I know I'll snack on something, but just not sure yet what it is - prob strawberries. FYI, I normally eat A LOT more than I did today. 100% raw for me today.

Happy Monday All!
I'm keeping my diet on the soft side as my throat is killing me.
Today:
Breakfast was a batch of tangerines (probably about a pound or so)
Lunch was three large pears
Dinner, which I am having right now is a banana date smoothie.

Happy Monday to all!
Pippin - hope you feel better!
The cauliflower popcorn - just toss the cut up pieces in a baggie with nutritional yeast - I put about 6 T, 1/2 T salt, 1 t oil, and a splash of water (I counted that as the water after I washed it and was clinging to the cauliflower), I then added some agave (you could use raw honey). Now, here's the hard part, test tasting it and trying not to eat it all. I spread it out on the tray (started on parchment paper and then when partially dry, I took it off and placed it directly on tray. The directions I found said to dehydrate overnite, when I checked it half way thru, it wasn't done but had shrunk alot. But for the second half of cooking, it stopped shrinking and got crisp.
Today I made my GS with collard greens, oj,blueberries, hemp and chia seeds, and all my add-ins. That was delicious!
Lunch was an apple, orange, and flax crackers.
Dinner a salad with more zuchinni hummus.
I'm about to make rasberry sherbet and brownies for hubby.
Kiwi before bed.

I went to eat my leftover 'popcorn' and it was all soggy and had a funny taste. I couldn't eat it, it made me gag - so not sure what I did wrong. I'll bet Monk knows all the secrets to making great 'popcorn'.
It could be the combo nutritional yeast and agave - almost tasted fermented but off.
Atleast the rasberry sherbet was good - took my urge for ice cream away. so far haven't found any ice cream recipies without nuts. I ordered a cookbook (name I already forgot) that when I browsed thru it had some ice creams w/o nuts - that's why I bought the book.

Day 5 -- still keeping things very simple. . .
Bananas, almonds, apples, green smoothie.
Hoping to get the urge to get something in the dehydrator -- actually have some sunflower seed sprouting -- wanting to try the corn chip recipe.
Good news is that as simple as I'm keeping things -- I'm 100% raw. I'm happy with me right now. And I'm still exercising. Surely my body will be happy.

sweets do you know how to quote multiple posts in one post? you hit the little button with the quotation marks on it. once you get to the last post you want to quote just hit the quote button. a window will open with all the posts listed. you can delete the info you don't NEED to carry over (to make it cleaner and easier for people to follow) and then simply respond between each quoted post.
it's easy. try it out!
and yeah... a banana line how could anyone not love that!!! :wuv
Good to know! (I was actually thinking about that last night...lol)
I think we were posting at the same time, so I didn't see the other one.....lol
Will there be a challenge for the month of March 2011. I started a Facebook page for anyone who would like to join me at http://tiny.cc/et4w8
Quick hello to you all! TWO liters of green smoothies today, HUGE salad, HUGE avocado. Famished at the moment but too busy to prepare something. It's all good. All raw, I can be hungry for a bit and have my wits about me!

Doing good -- am amazed! Really I am amazed, why am I able to do 100% this time? I am so pleased.
Made some Raworitos last night. I forgot to add the spices; they are wonderful. I did not have a food processor large enough or strong enough to make, so I made in my blend-tex. I needed to add lots more water, but all is well, they are great.
Breakfast was bananas and my ACV/honey tea.
Lunch was Green Smoothie and some Raworitos, which I've snacked on all afternoon, along with a couple small bananas and some almonds.
Supper will probably be Raworitos, avacodo, and celery.
Day 7 and at the start of the day, the scales showed a loss of 1 1/2 pounds. A pleasant surprise. Hope tomorrow's scale reading is the same.
Time to go back outside and work a bit more in the garden. Weather is lovely.

Today was a good day. I did my Insanity workout with my energy drink of a pint of coconut oil and 2tbsp of chia seeds, it was great. I had energy for my whole workout and felt hydrated, and even full. Usually I am so hungry after my workout but not today.
B: GS with protein powder (raw), banana, chia seeds, coconut water, collards, strawberries, and blueberries, some kale.
Then I bought some cheesy kale chips, and chocolate granola, all raw so I was snacking on them all day.
I had a tomatoe and collard sandwich on ezekial bread and mayo.
Nothing yet for dinner, not really hungry.
Where can I get the recipes for the raworites? Would love to try them! Thanks!

Rawritos
3 Cups Sprouted Sunflower Seeds
4 Cups Frozen Corn, thawed
1/2 Cup Braggs
1/2 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Onion Powder
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
<note: stop here to make them "just" really great corn chips>
2 Tbsp Taco Seasoning
2 Tbsp Chili Powder
1 - 2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
Blend well in food processor and spread on Teflex Sheets. If you are making corn chips, when you flip them SPRINKLE them with a mix of the following: 1/3 Nut Yeast, 1/3 Taco Seasoning, 1/3 Chili Powder. I use a little shaker and use a lot of shake. They are a powdery, cheezy, taco-y, red corn chip. Hmmm... THAT'S A DORITO!

Hi All,
Renee, those pictures are great. Looks like you had alot of fun!
B- GS - collard greens, apple, blueberries, orange and all my add-ins and flax seed crackers
L - apple and orange
D - munched on peas, carrots, apple, agave and shredded coconut
kiwi before bed
I received my mandolin, small grinder, lucuma powder, and 'milkbag' today. I'll try sprouting buckwheat using the bag starting tomorrow - and sweet potato chips with the mandolin. Getting my next batch of flax crackers together and kale chips.
I think I bought the grinder for flax seeds, and hemp seeds. Not sure what else I had in mind - I don't eat nuts or seeds.

Hey all! Seeing some good stuff on the thread
I think kicked whatever I was trying to come down with :woohoo: I believe the thanks all goes to RAW and all those high vitamin C fruits I have been consuming....almost exclusively. Oranges, kiwi, grapefruit...
Today-
Breakfast was oranges, oranges, oranges
Lunch Pears...side note...I think I have figured out I cant do pears :sadtears: I have pears for at lunch for the past three days and each day I developed a tummy ache either right after eating, or like today before I even finished the second one. So I went a little hungry cause that is the only thing I brought for lunch.
Does anyone else have problems with eating pears? I absolutely love them !
Dinner- Kinda turned out to be snacking. I polished off literally a whole bunch of kale chips . Then I snacked on raw carrots, celery, red/yellow/orange peppers, and cucumbers. I actually feel pretty satisfied with that dinner.
Hope you all are coming along well, we are nearing the end of the 30 day challenge but in reality it is only the beginning... lol

Hi pippin!
Glad to hear you are feeling better!!!!
Yes, I have problems with eating/juicing pears sometimes too......I made a wonderful juice when I did my 10 day feast - with apple, pear & lemon....it tasted divine, but had me holding my stomach for hours!! :(

Hey Monk,
Yeah, this is kinda weird huh? :weird I am usually one of the last ones to post for the day. I figured it was due the difference in time zones.
Anyway....
Breakfast: 2 large grapefruits, multiple tangerines, two oranges. (still working on getting all that bug out of my system  so am still vitamin C'ing it up- lol )
Lunch was 2 oranges & two bananas. Later I snacked on walnuts cause I got hungry.
Dinner- I had a whole sliced avocado on the onion bread I made the other day...was sooooooo good! I see everyone putting nutritional yeast on their avo, and I tried a smidge like that, but didn't care much for it for some reason. Since I ran out of greens, I added a green drink in the morning and one with dinner.
I feel pretty good now!
Hope you all are doing well!

I'm here - just another long day. I learned how to post pics just haven't had the time to post them.
I juiced oranges and grapefruit with my husband and then put mine in the blender with the pulp and spirulina, and other add-ins. Made about 36 oz. Boy, was that delicious.
Is there anything to do raw that would improve my memory - words get blocked, etc. I don't like it. It scares me.
Lunch was 2 apples and flax seed crackers. Yum.
Dinner - I bought some blueberries so I'm thinking fruit salad with coconut and a little agave or raw honey. Oh, and a raw cookie from the HFS - too hungry while out with potential renters before getting home.
I'll eat while I play with my mandolin - going to make sweet potato chips, jicama bruchetta, and of course, I have my flax soaking. Oh, and I'll soak buckwheat to get ready for calzones a few days away - but well worth the try.
I miss all of you when I can''t get to post earlier, don't want to be left out of the fun! Speak to you all tomorrow. :kisses:
