nice work ! more definition in the cheekbones and skin looks smoother from decreased pore size...also seems less oily and your eyes have opened and lifted. Definately cheaper than botox :)

Thank you! Monk' and KB. LOL!
My skin used to be super oily with lots of hormonal breakouts, but now it's almost normal.
The before pic is with full makeup and the after with an almost bare face (I was trying on a new blush)

Georgeous da'ling! :0) Wow! The skin, cheekbones and eyes so clear and bright! What are they ways in which you feel different as well? How much weight did you lose? What brought you to begin eating raw?

Thank you! :wuv
I have so much more energy. I'm alert, my mind is clearer than ever before.
I'm more creative and more calm even in the face of challenges. I've always been a happy, positive person, so I guess you could say I just enhanced that part.
My hair is silkier, not as coarse. My oily, acne-prone skin has fewer and fewer breakouts; actually none in the past 2 months I've noticed.
My teeth are whiter, but that may have to do with oil pulling. People who know me say I look healthy! LOL.
I started Raw when I went on a full-body detox with herbs and a raw diet for 21 days to cleanse my system. After the detox was done, I decided to continue on the Raw way of eating. I also did it to shore up my health. I was a closet social smoker for many, many years (never smoked during the workday; would wait to I got home or when I went out clubbing or to parties.)
I am in my 50's and started gaining lot's of weight, peri-menopause set in and I didn't like how I was feeling, so I wanted to do something about it.
I alway ate a "healthy" diet, very little processed food, and hardly any dairy until the last 2 years before I went Raw. So Raw isn't too hard for me.

Beautiful!!!
The other thing, of course, is that your INNER beauty will come more and more to the fore, too ... you will feel more and more connected to all that is real, and that is enduring! :-)
Reading inspirational literature like "The Essene Gospels of Peace" helps in this process of connecting to the Infinite Beauty within ...
Wonderful!!! Keep it up, and keep expanding in joy and happiness and abundance!! :-)

Yeah, Smarty. Some days I can't believe it myself!
I finally feel "grown up" if you can understand that. The 50s can be quite interesting as you watch yourself age. I want to be graceful and vibrant in my maturity.
Unfortunately, I was recently diagnosed with Venous Insufficiency. The doctor told me that the discoloration on my leg will never go away and I have to wear compression stockings for the rest of my life. That was a bit of a downer as I have the sexiest shoe collection you can imagine. Oh well.... When "perspective" hits me, I'll take it and thrive. God is good. All the time...
Who knows, I might even start a line of designer compression stockings!

January, I agree with everyone...YOU look awesome!
I like the thought of designer compression stockings. My left foot swells with heat or when I eat too much salt. It has pitting edema. Docs never gave me a diagnosis. Proping the foot and exercise help to move the fluid. My foot looks like a plump...uh...cucumber. So in summer my feet are not attractive at all. bummer... Designer stockings would be fab.
I would like to know more about your perimeno experience. I am getting there and have some challenges. When I ask friends or other women they act like its taboo conversation.
Thanks for sharing.

This may help. Take sea buckthorn oil capsules, this helps with the inflammation which is really at the root of the problem. Also take some of Alissa's enzymes, again helps to give your system a boost, and deal with inflammation. Make sure you get enough Vitamin D. Check your levels with a blood test. And if they are not sufficient, ask your doc for an injection of 600,000 i.u. in 1 ml of cholecalciferol, aka Vit D3. This will last you 1 entire year. Drink 4L of water per day, and take some milk thistle tabs to help cleanse your liver and take the stress off your kidneys. If you can afford to go to a good homeopath who understands raw veganism, try that as well. Also try oxycise - the deep breathing helps cleanse your system of toxins, which helps to relieve the pressure on your liver and kidneys. It also gets the heart going etc.
I've managed to heal myself from some serious problems with my feet, similar to what you've described in this manner. It really does have a heck of a lot to do with what you eat. Since you eat healthily, you should see a good natural health practitioner to help you get on top of this problem
Hope u feel better soon.
Carla.

:hug Sisters we are... I agree that menopause has been a hush-hush issue for as long as I remember. I believe that it should be a topic taught in health during high school. They educate us about childbirth, but not the years after and what to expect. Just like diet and nutrition. They tell us after we have all kinds of diseases, what we should have been doing early on in our lives.
I'd be happy to share my peri-menopause, and now perhaps menopause (haven't had a cycle since last April) experience with you. Know that everyone is different. What do you want to know? You can post your questions in my messages if you'd like.
