I was wondering in a day, how much greens should I be eating? I know that I need to get more greens in me and I just don't do it for some reason. Thanks!

Hi Becky!
In Greens for Life Victoria Boutenko doesn't put a limit on the amount of Greens we eat... I've never seen an amount in either of Alissa's books either... I would say as many as you are able. I don't think you can go wrong with Greens all day. There are so many you could change them up and get the full benefit, too... I'd be interested to see what others say...
Sorry, I'm no help....

I just want to remember to eat them. i always seem to stick with spinach, which I know that I have to rotate my greens, but I don't like anything but spinach in smoothies. I saw a recipe on line for cabbage chips, I am going to try and make them tomorrow and that will count?!

I rotate spinach, watercress and kale in my green smoothies. They all can be indistinguishable when drunk if proportioned well with fruit.
I just watched a Victoria Boutenko video on Hallelujah Acres YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/HallelujahDiet#p/u/0/Qc3Fl7EcaLs)channel and she said 1-2# per day. I've never weighed out my greens, but I don't think I'm getting that much! *Ü*

I KNOW I am not getting that much! I will have to start I guess! Geesh, I will be going to the grocery store every day! I think the container of baby spinach I get is only a 1lb. and that is all I can fit into my fridge!! :thud: I am not sure where I could store more greens, especially kale, collards, they are so big!
Well I guess I will be drinking and living at the grocery store!! :talljuice:

I feel my best when I'm swimming in greens. Ideally, three times a day. Like chlorella, spirulina, or E3 Live with fresh pressed citrus (heavenly!), green juice, green smoothie, salads, roll-ups, shots of wheat grass juice from the health food store. That's high on life. So, I can't say exactly how much per poundage I go through, but I'm always aiming for more.

I think what I am going to have to do is buy a spirlunia or something like that. Now my next question is which brand and what do you all recommand, spirulina, E3 Live, or Chlorella. Thanks guys! I do have wheatgrass, just have to remember to drink it. I got it at whole foods and they say to keep it in the freezer and then defrost it in hot water. So I will do this after I exercise or maybe even before.

there is a brand that has spirulina, chlorella, wheat grass and barley grass all in one...I dont know if you have it in the states but over here it is called Synergy Natural, Premium Super Greens.

I have no idea how much is too much verses how much is enough, except to say...Fit them in everywhere! :eat Put them in your smoothie...change up your dressing choices every few days to make them interesting and constantly new. How about some avocado/spinach dip...lots of leafy greens in there. Also, Kale chips are one of my favs. I think if you intentionally add them to meals in random spots you will get more than you think and your body will thank you!:encore:

It cans constitute half of your food per day.
At first i would have a bunch of green, now i can easy have half of my diet.
Keep in my mind to rotate your greens, don't eat the same type all the time, you need to rotate them.
Parsley, cilantro, micro-green, wheat grass juice, kale, beet greens, dandelion, spinach, buckwheat green, sunflower sprout, etc..... just be creative.
I love to mix it with mango and banana with my greens. Parsley, i tend to juice it with my vegetable.
Why are you supposed to rotate your greens? I keep seeing that here but don't know why. I use spinich, kale and collards everyday in my smoothie. thanks. love this site.
@ Rena - Here's Victoria Boutenko's explanation: http://greensmoothiesblog.com/green-smoothie-rotate/
Basically each kind of green has a different kind of poison in it to prevent it from getting over-grazed in nature.

Well I made a smoothie this morning with collards, frozen banana, almond milk, frozen peaches, and chia seeds. It was mighty tasty. I also did my shot of wheatgrass. Then for lunch I think I am going to have a wrap made out of collards. I also got an email from Alissa about a great product of greens, so I am going to order that, and put that in my juices and smoothies!! Right now the protein I use has some greens in it, is from Vega.
kmik: thank you so much, what a wonderful site. definately added to my favorites list. thanks
