Okay, maybe I'm being dense here, I have been able to find most things by doing searches and not bothering all the time... ;) But I can't seem to find a recipe for flax crackers. Does anyone have one they can share? What do most of you like eating on top of crackers? I don't have Alissa's book yet.
Thanks! :)

I do...This is a recipe I created: Enjoy!!
This makes four trays of crackers.
2 c brown flaxseeds, ground
1 c golden, whole
4-5 cloves garlic
2 small or med small onion
4 large carrots
1 T sea salt
1 T italien seasoning
5 dates, pitted and soaked for 30 minutes, or till soft
1 1/2 c parsley
1. Soak ground seeds in c cups of water
2. Soak golden seeds in 1 cup water
3. Prepare vegis, chop into smaller pieces
4. In a food processor, chop carrots 1st until fine. Add onion, garlic, seasoning and dates. Pulse until well blended. Add parsley and chop until just blended and fine.
5. Combine both soaked seeds in a large bowl. Add mixed vegis and blend with a spoon. Note: Do not do this in the blender because you will smoosh up the golden seeds. They look nice in the final product.
6. Spread this on your dehydrator trays. Process for 24 hours at 105 degrees or until crispy.
These are so good if I do say so myself!
Please give me feed back on this if you try it. Thanks.

The first flax crackers I made were the "onion bread" recipe spread thinly. They were VERY good. I don't recall exactly where the recipe was posted...but here's the recipe:
Onion Bread/Crackers
2 1/2 lbs. sweet onions, peeled
1 c. ground sunflower seeds
1 c. ground golden flax seeds
1/2 c. olive oil
3 oz. Bragg's or Nama Shoyu (though many leave this out and sub with celtic salt)
Pulse chop onions in processor. Mix in bowl w/other ingredients. Smooth onto sheets about 1/4" thick. Dehydrate 5 hours. Turn over and dry anotehr 3-4 hours or until dry (to desired texture either soft for bread or crisp for crackers).
Store in refrigerator in an airtight container.
If you do a search, there was a recent discussion about it. Good luck!! :)

I'm having a "DUH" moment... :o I didn't realize that the "flax crackers" everyone's been talking about is the same as the onion bread/cracker recipe that I bookmarked a while ago... Didn't realize it was the same thing! LOL!
