I'm a college student that is trying my hardest to eat better and I know one of my faults is I don't tend to eat breakfast with any regularity. I work from 7am to 5pm and then go to class 630pm to about 1030ish. I try to swing by my house after work and grab something good for dinner but my main problem is breakfast.

I was thinking that it might be easier to blend up a nice big green smoothie when I get home from class and store it in the fridge so I have something I can just grab out of the fridge in the morning ... I've stored extra smoothie in the fridge before and it was fine. I would make it fresh in the morning but I'm already sleep deprived as it is and its almost impossible to get up any earlier.

When I'm up late I know that it will make for a rushed morning, so I add everything to the blender canister the night before and put it in the fridge. When I awake I just grab it, add ice and water and blend. Saves a lot of time. :heart

Best wishes on your healthy journey! :cheer:

thought about doing that but sadly there isn't enough space in the fridge for my blender canister lol maybe i can put it all in a plastic bag or something ... thanks for the idea :)

Thanks Aleesha, I don't think I knew that...or maybe I just forgot it. Very likely. :o:p

are you sure? what about oxidization? In one of your other posts you said that after 15 minuites smoothies are nothing but sugar.

Could have been talking about juice?

REALLY IMPORTANT -- I keep my green smoothies in a sealed mason jar -- this makes a HUGE difference having them in a sealed glass jar or at least sealed, airtight container.

When Victoria Boutenko first did her large experiment with green smoothies she only made a batch every 48 hours.
It is best to have it as soon as possible but if pre making it means that you have a smoothie and not premaking it means that you may not then I would premake it.
Fill the container to the very top and if it does not reach the top then add water on top to keep as much air out as possible and then seal it

Hi!

I work all day as well. I make my breakfast green smoothies at night for the next day and close them tightly in a glass mason jar (mine are shaped more like milk bottles than open-mouthed mason jars, but the concept is the same). I grab and go in the morning, drinking them either on my long drive into work or as I sit at my desk.

Some nights I make enough for the next two days because a few nights a week I stay at a family member's house that is closer to work than my house. I can't really do anything in her kitchen, so I make sure my GS is in the fridge at work for those mornings when I'm not starting out from home.

The most I have made at one time is 3, at night, for the next three mornings. The third day is not ideal, because it's not very fresh, but it still tastes good. And it's better than a SAD breakfast! Plus it's nice to save the time on the later days.

I use these bottles: http://www.amazon.com/Bormioli-Rocco-Quattro-Stagioni-Canning/dp/B0000CFPEY/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1297098361&sr=8-14

I hope this helps!

What I've been doing lately is when I get off work I go home and change for class, toss a bunch of stuff in the blender, drink about half it and put the other half in one of those plastic smoothie containers with the good screw on lid and dash out the door. Its been working out rather well I think :)

Funny thing is someone saw my bright green smoothie today and thought it was this 'green-berry' smoothie mix that they buy offline. He couldn't believe it was spinach, carrots, apple and pineapple lol

LIke the bottles you use ACVille. Wonder if a smoothies would taste any better on the third day if you froze it?!
