Welcome welcome welcome!!! :excited:
Welcome to the 30 day challenge. :eat
If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!
Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!
We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.
We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!
In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.
Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,
Cherie

Gooood morning all!!! :throwhearts:
Thanks for mentioning nori rolls Jeannie, I've been meaning to order some. The ones at my co-op aren't raw...maybe they'll order them for me.
Breakast - green smoothie: kale, banana, organic dried coconut flakes (that I've had and don't know what to do with), cacao powder with maca, ground flax, ice and water
Snack - cauliflower popcorn and a bag of blackberries and strawberries
Lunch - Left over chili (monk's DELICOUS recipe!); and one large cucumber sliced up.
Drinks - I usually don't log my liquid intake, at least not my water...but I figured why not? lol 2 liters of water and 1 liter of green smoothie
:cheer: Have a RAWking great day everyone!! :cheer:

You could make some macaroons with the coconut flakes!!!! I adore the recipe from Raw Food Real World - though I will cut the amount of maple syrup next time - they were really sweet! (I like the vanilla ones, but LOVE the chocolate ones)....
I'm so happy you like the chili!!! :woot:
Mmmm blackberries & strawberries.......oh, how I love them....they are super expensive here right now.....
Have a great Friday!!!! :hug

Well.....it's another frigid morning here in good ol' Wisconsin.....current temp..... -7 below zero....no windchill, however....so just -7 ....lol :cold:
It's supposed to start warming up today (24 degrees!!) and this entire next week is supposed to be in the 30's!! (Believe me some people will actually be wearing shorts here when it reaches the 30's).....lol
I had my cup of tea & my smoothie....I only had 1 banana to put in it.....hmmm
I'm not sure what I'm having for lunch.....but dinner....That WILL be the salad I didn't get to make last night....lol - I'm really looking forward to having kale....:eat
You know what?
I don't think I've had ANY greens (besides the powdered ones in my smoothies)...for like a week!!!!
I need to change that!!!!!
I've been gravitating towards "heavier", spicy foods this week instead - with the freezing temps outside....
Well, hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!!!!!! (this week just flew by, didn't it???) :weird

Hi Everyone, you all sound chipper. Sounds like you have a warmfront in Wisconsin.
I like the taste of a nori roll sheet on its own, too. Between the texture, the smell and the taste, it reminds me of home (desert and sushi just don't go together, when I was eating fish).
I woke up late, good thing we're taking most of day off. Looking forward to spending a whole afternoon in the kitchen with my new dehydrator then just coming home from work and being too pressed for time before its off to bed again. (have my flax seeds soaked and sweet potato and potato saoked from last night)
I'll have my quart of water with lemon while I think of what to eat today.
B - always some type of GS mix. wakes me and my blood and circulation up!
Prepares me for the day.
I have alot of fruit, so I'll make a fruit smoothie for lunch.
Dinner - greek salad.
kiwi or apple - love those pink ladies!

Lol @ warm front in WI....lol - yeah, they said it was supposed to get up to 24 degrees today....hmmm....it's almost 2pm & it's 13 degrees out....well, at least it "warmed" up! lol
Have fun playing with your new dehydrator!!!!!!!
I LOVE pink lady apples too....I really only buy 3 types of apples...honeycrisp, pink lady & granny smith ones....I like the crispness of them....can't stand a "mealy" apple with grainy texture...YUCK!!
Nice green smoothies you've been having!!!
I remember when I used to drink them - they would give me goosebumps....and there wasn't any ice in them!! Pure "life energy" running through my veins!!!
Happy Friday to you~

WooHoo!!
Depending on your humidity/temp... dehydrating will vary...last time I made them - I think I had them in the "D" for around 3 days....OMGosh - when you eat one right out of there & it's slightly crispy on the outside, yet warm & gooey on the inside....oh....it's like....like...a little piece of heaven in your mouth.....:meditating::drool::throwhearts:
Enjoy the chili!!!
Let me know how it is the 2nd day....I usually eat it all in one sitting....lol

Lunch!....a late one at that....today is produce delivery day at work & I had to get a bunch of stuff checked in before taking lunch.....
So, at work I ate 1 coconut date roll....and drank one of my homemade kombuchas....mmm
I just ate the last couple dehydrated almonds....I shared 4 with DBF....then, after I gave them to him & he popped them in his mouth - he says "I already had some today!".....what a brat....I would've eaten them ALL - I'm starving!!!! :duh
Then I had a bowl of blueberries (my co-worker lovingly calls them "bloobs") LOL...I'm sorry, but that just makes me laugh everytime!! :woot:
I'm having a cup of tea....
I also had a small handful of dehydrated sunflower seeds.....at least he didn't eat all of those yet....
I'm going to have a small spoonful of coconut oil & head back to work until 6pm......
Later Gators!! :excited:

Feeling rather blah today... I was kept up last night because I have a pinched nerve or something in my right leg and it's very distracting. I get these every now and again and it's always from the waist down in one or both legs. It hurts worse when lying down for some reason.
All I've had today is a green smoothie and some leftover chili (there wasn;t much because it was so darn GOOD!).
I'm pretty much out of produce and have to go grocery shopping to get more. Will probably feel better after some fruit juice but I'm feeling too lazy to even go shopping. GAH! Below is a pic of Monk's delicious chili. I added frozen corn to it (thawed of course) without realizing that it is not raw. It added a nice sweet texture to it though.

Monk - what is the cocnut oil straight up for?
changed my menu a bit - I had great pineapple and cantaloupe.
my smoothie turned into the taste of apple pie. thaat's a keeper!
tonight I'll have another smoothie. My body's wanting the freshness of fruit and said it didn't need protein as of yet today.
I'm dehydrating sweet potato chips - sure hope they come out okay for my first try!

Hello all!
I don't have pictures today but I have stayed raw :woot:
Breakfast was 3 huge red grapefruits...they are so good right now.
Lunch was a big green smoothie made with OJ, mangos, and baby spinach. I also added maca & some flax seeds. That was very satisfying and it took me about an 1 1/2 hours to finish it.
Dinner - I will probably start with fruit, maybe some grapes. Then will have large salad of mixed baby greens, fresh herbs, tomatoes, cukes, hemp seeds, avocado, and fresh squeezed lemon juice.
I think I will go through some of my un-cook books tonight and try to come up with something special for the weekend.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! 4 ingredients: cauliflower, nutritional yeast, cayenne and sea salt. Add the seasonings to suit your taste. I added a little bit more salt to today's batch and it tasted much yummier! Taste test as you go along and it'll end up perfect. :excited:

I've been here off and on, mostly off, with sooo much school work, but, I am getting caught up.:excited: I've stayed raw (going on 2 months) and the longer I'm raw the easier it gets. My family had pizza last night and it smelled good but it was very easy to resist, especially since I had a huge salad for lunch and just wasn't hungry, even at dinner time. Glad to see everyone getting on so well! :encore: Hoping I have more time next week to read and post more. Just wanted to touch base and let you all know I'm still here.

Thought I would make a quick comment on the coconut oil. Those good fats in the coconut oil help pull the bad fats out of the body. It's helps with detoxifiction...even just oil pulling (see Brain Fife's books...hope I spelled that right). It's great for just about every organ system in the body...heart/circulation, nervous system, brain function, endocrine (hormone) system, digestive system and more.
I have a friend who run a semi-raw cafe here in town and her hubby started eating a couple of tablespoons a day. In three days he was having to tighten his belt! :0)
We made a lovely dish the other day from one of Paul Nissan's videos. All in the vitamix...it was:
avacado
a couple of stalks of celery
garlic cloves (to taste...we used three...my children said 2 was not quite enough), several tomatoes (add more if it's having a hard time mixing and needs more moisture),
lemon juice (to keep the avacados from turning brown)
sea salt to taste
2 cups (handfuls) of raw spinich
Then we added about one cup of sprouts as well
Deeelicious dip with some raw flax crackers....I even like to leave it in the vitamix until just warm and eat it like a soup.
