I've been looking around the forum for a little bit and decided that it was high time i make a name and join in on the conversations :)

i've been trying for a few months to start transitioning to a more raw lifestyle but its rather hard because i recently moved back home due to losing my good job. luckily i found another job so there is that but no one in my house is very supportive about my diet change.

my mother will try and be supportive by rinsing my sprouts and grabbing extra fruits and veggies when she goes to the store. she'll even go so far as to try my green smoothie concoctions. my dad and brother just look at my food funny. the biggest problem is that i have a hard time keeping 'my' food from being eaten and preparing things before hand. i'm lucky if i'm even managing 20% raw ...

on the upside i finally got a high powered blender in the mail today so i hope to be able to blend up drinks and soups more often ^_^

Hi there. I began raw on the 14th December last year and smuggled loads of fruit into my sister's house. I would sneak off now and again to eat my fruit without being noticed. Two weeks into raw and with a Christmas Dinner aroma in the air I didn't want a confrontation. I had already decided to eat the dinner but I knew I needed to keep tanked up with fruit during the course of the day. I guess my point is, that most fruit can survive without refridgeration and you can easily hide it from sticky fingers. I also like the idea of being sneaky and deceptive with fruit. I love the irony! I'll be pushing bananas at the school gate next!

well i keep my dried seeds and nuts in my room and try to keep a few things in the micro fridge that i had to fight to get in my room. the main thing is my greens don't do well in the micro fridge cause for some odd reason it freezes them :(

my major problem is i share the house with a 15 yr old black hole aka my teenage brother :) even if it has someone's name on it he'll likely eat it anyway.

there are times i really miss living by myself lol

The greens are the thing that need the fridge most. Could you place a cardboard lining on the back and sides of the fridge to protect them.
Can you turn the temperature down.

I've tried turning it as down as possible but my spinach was still half frozen :( I don't know if cardboard would work ... the fridge is so small ... maybe paper bags might work. I'll have to try that and let you know how that goes ...

I have the same problem. I think it's circulation. We overfill our fridge and it prevents circulation and causes freezing at the back. I think Sport's idea is cool, I'm gonna try that. And keep your greens away from the back. Berries are okay, if they part freeze they will taste great in a smoothie!
