Hello everyone!
I was just introduced to Raw foods about 2 weeks ago. I have really been enjoying learning this lifestyle. I am supposed to be doing a 30 day challenge and I fell off the wagon tonight. :-( So, hopefully tomorrow I can pick it back up. Weekends are so tough for me! My friends are not into this lifestyle whatsoever and I love them dearly so I make the choice to go back into their world when I'm with them. If anyone has any suggestions on coping with this issue I'd love to hear them!

I am having the same problem, I am transitioning into the raw food lifestyle, I started on Monday. My whole family isn't really into it and I am slightly shy about letting people I'm around in on my new lifestyle. My dad will make fun of me to no end, and all my fam will probably think it is just a phase. I love going out with all my friends and hanging with them but going out to restaurants and bars isn't really RAW friendly. I am going to try and be super relaxed about my food choices and not let people get uncomftorable by having to accomodate for me. I hope that in a few months my fam will see how great this change in eating habits has been for me and maybe make it a choice for them as well, but it no way will I force it on them. I would like some tips on going with non raw foodists too.

Hi there

In the beginning you may find it easier to commit to raw at home but to remain a bit flexible when out. If you allow yourself that you may even find you are leaning towards the healthier choices already at restaurants and refusing certain things that your friends offer. It is all good. It means you are gaining confidence, learning to say no and finding a natural balance without shocking anyone or battling within yourself. You should find over time the raw/not raw balance will shift in favour of raw.
