Hi All Health Seekers,
I am new to the forum and super excited to be here. I have experimented with eating raw for over a year now, but always I tend to slip back. But I keep trying knowing in my heart that it is the best most healthy way to eat. I find the biggest challenge is during the colder months and eating for comfort. I do still eat a high about of raw foods- my goal is to 90% by the end of 2011 and i'm working up to doing the 30 day challenge.

Looking forward to any advice you long time raw fooders have and exchanging meaningful ideas about health!

Om, Adriana

a big thing for me was remembering that sensual pleasure of food was this nostalgic self-embedded fixation/attachment. And it is actually easy to be non-attached,
and so i stopped being attached.

I told myself, i need to EXPERIENCE what it is like to eat pure raw food, for an extended period of time (at least 30days) to UNDERSTAND what it can do for me, how i can feel. I will not be able to lean one way or the other of half way between without this felt experience.

that motivation has put me through the experience (also reminding myself, this is not a forever thing, this is an experiment for the experience) but the experience has been so positive, i'm keeping cooked food as a memory, and do not choose to experience THAT again.

Also, it is a journey; it will take time, bless yourself with time and patience but also will power, and you'll find what works for you :)

welcome!

I agree with you that I need to challenge myself and see what it would be like to stay on 100% raw and how that would change me (I've gone longer than a month :)). I do still enjoy the pleasure of eating food though- I think of it as a gift from God, so why not enjoy the flavors, smells & colors of beautiful ripe fruit- its actually meant to be appealing on all the senses and dare I say, even a sensual experience - however, I get that we as a society have become grossly addicted to heavily salted/spiced foods, refined sugars, additives, preservatives, greasy fatty foods that dull our senses so we can't even appreciate the delicate flavors found in nature.

Thanks for your thoughts!
