Hi everyone! I'm a 17 year old raw foodie from New York (NYC)! I love living raw but I've been finding it hard to keep up with my very busy lifestyle. (I leave home around seven thirty and don't get back until around seven so that's about 12 hours). Any suggestions? And if there's someone out there who lives in the big city or around the area, can you suggest the best places for me to stock up on raw food goodies? Thanks!

Hi! I don't live in NY so don't know where u can go to stock up but Google is always a good place to start looking ;) I recently started looking into juice feasting...this website has very detailed info http://juicefeasting.com/JuiceFeastingSpectrumIntro/ADayintheLifeofaJuiceFeaster/tabid/184/Default.aspx
In step 7 of "A day in a life....":
"We have had workaholic students who have Juice Feasted with us who love drinking juice, because it saves them time from having to go out for food.
You will find yourself accomplishing more on a Juice Feast, due to the time savings, reduced need for sleep, better focus, and increased nutrition. People will gravitate more to you as you become more vibrant, and synchronicities will happen. This is a delightful suprise for everyone who Feasts."
I tend to be busy as well so this particularly appealed to me.

Bananas are easy to get anywhere and you should always keep a raw bar (such as a Lara Bar) in your bag for emergencies.

@ evening. I've heard a lot about the benefits of juice feasting and I'm definitely interested in doing one some time but unfortunately, I can't do it while I'm in school because I'm not allowed to brink open drinks, (as in not vacuum packed closed). It's because of security reasons.
@ sport: I love bananas though I use them more for smoothies but they're definitely a good snack to take on the go. As for larabars: LOVE THEM! They are a total life-saver. Larabars help me keep my energy up throughout the day so they are definitely a staple of mine whenever I have after school activities.

Bars are nice, but don't over indulge. ;P I (15yo) like to carry portable fruits with me when I'll be away for an exteneded period of time. Throw some oranges/tangerines/clementines/etc in your backpack! I like bananas, also, but they seem to get bruised in my backpack. ^^;
Sometimes when I'm feeling innovative I pack a salad in a container. My fav is chopped collard w/ apple cider or coconut vinegar, minced garlic, a tiny bit of oil (I use sunflower), and italian spices. The longer it sits the better. :heart:
Nowadays I'm usually able to eat most of my meals at home, but I'd likely be making green soups if I were to go out. They're easy and so good for both my body and taste buds. :throwhearts:
Some people say they like to carry green smoothies, so that'd also probably work. Just make sure that in either you have an acidic component such as citris or vinegar to make it last longer when not refrigerated.
Good luck! :hug
