:woohoo: Today marks the end of my second year eating raw foods! Looking forward to year 3 filled with glee! :excited:
I have been very nearly 100% raw for most of this time. I do use dried herbs that are prolly not raw and in the beginning I used some items that I had thought were raw but turned out not to be.
Going raw has been one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I feel great most of the time and have not been sick in these past two years. I have had detox symptoms and I actually still get those sometimes. I figure that since I am still burning stored up fat, my body is still processing the toxins that were stored in that fat so the detox times make sense to me.
Since finding, and loving :throwhearts: green smoothies, I have felt even better and am looking better as well. Even though my gray (actually they are silver) hairs are still with me, people can not believe my age when I tell them.
If you are new to raw foods, keep with it. Breaking your addictions to the SAD comfort foods is worth it! If you cave and eat some, be kind to yourself. Always give yourself credit for what you have accomplished. If you find yourself veering toward depression, start taking lots of green smoothies. That has made a huge difference for me. Also, know that in the beginning you will eat more food than you will after eating raw for awhile.
Thank you to all of the phenomenal people on this site who have shared so kindly their experiences, their recipes, their thoughts and their hearts! :heart
