View Full Version : Juicing without a gallbladder??

Hi,
Three months ago I had gallbladder removal surgery to attempt to solve GI problems, but it turned out my gallbladder was actually healthy. Instead I had celiac disease, but now I have digestive issues because my body is not adjusting well to the removal of a perfectly healthy organ.
This has really bothered me, but I can't put it back in! I am wondering if ANYONE has had their gallbladder removed and still was able to do a juice fast, and or a 75% raw food diet.
I was concerned that without the gallbladder the body doesn't have the support system for the liver to assimilate toxins, as most toxins are fat soluble. I used to detox regularly and had great results, turns out partially because I was not eating any grains during that time. Now it is as if my body is on toxic overload even after a single day of juicing. I thought about trying a modified fast, taking juices as I would normally, along with a small portion of cooked beans (for the fiber, so that toxins bind to it and are eliminated faster).
Any advice would be appreciated, or to hear from anyone who is actually healthy even after their gallbladder is out.

I thought the gall bladder was there to help release bile for the breakdown of fats etc.. The liver is the toxin warehouse. I don't see why it would effect you. I have had mine removed as well. The only time I see that I have some trouble is when I eat foods very high in oil. Avocados and nuts don't bother me though. I have never juice fasted so I don't know about that. The only way to tell I guess is to try it. You will know if something's wrong. Make sure to share it here if it works though!

I have several Dr's, but none of them are holistic, so they know nothing about juicing or detoxing, raw food, whole food, etc. In my area (Mississippi) there are no Naturopathic Dr's, (they are actually illegal here), no acupuncture, and no chinese medicine practitioners. I am in the process of going back to school to become a DNP, (Doctor of Nursing Practice). Here the way of thinking is very much pharmaceuticals, with no emphasis on diet or lifestyle. I am hoping to change that.
I'm guessing I will just have to try a juice fast and see. I did try one for 7 days 2 months ago, but that was all I could handle. I will keep posting updates on this thread with my progress.

I never juice with a gallbladder, I use a juicer... jokes aside, I'm sorry for what you've gone through, you would always question what medical doctors tell you and inform you from a truly independant site, you will find in most cases what the doctor wanted was made with the only purpose of making money even at the expense of damaging your health or even taking your life. Keep in mind that doctors in the US alone are by far the #1 cause of death killing 784 000 people per year with 5-20% of deaths not being properly recorded, that means a terrifying 10 000 to 40 000 people are killed by modern medicine EVERY DAY.
I myself had gallstones and they would have had my gallbladder removed, but I had already been poisoned and mutilated by those quacks before and as they say fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. So I read online and found how to do a gallbladder flush (simply drinking 1/2 of raw lemon juice with 1/2 cup of olive oil before bed and staying in a fetal position on the right side for half an hour before falling asleep), the next day the gallstones came out and my very painful symptoms I had been suffering from daily for weeks immediately and permanently vanished.
I would recommend searching www.naturalnews.com and www.mercola.com for information about what to do when you have had your gallbladder removed as there are supplements that help make up for the loss of a necessary organ. I would also recommend reading those sites regularly or signing up to their newsletter as I often learn a lot and stay up to date on honest science based health information through these sites.

Quite the good attitude you have there! We're not meant to get rid of perfectly good organs... but our bodies are smart and resilient! I'm not a doctor, but from the perspective of a logical person whose body has healed from SO MUCH, I know that eating a healthy diet helps SO MUCH to allow our bodies to heal and help themselves.
We are so lucky in this way! Especially when we see -- and honor -- the importance of treating our bodies well! :)
