No, the oats that are in grocery stores are not raw. But you can get some here:

(I hope it's ok to post the link)
I bought mine from someone on here that didn't like them. I LOVE THEM!

I use to love those raw oats. Super easy to make and very satisfying.
Here's the recipe I use to use:
Oatmeal
Oats, soaked overnight in water or nut milk
Agave
Coconut Oil
Pinch Salt
Cinnamon
Optional: chopped Nuts, Raisins
Mix together.

You could also buy bulk oat groats and flake them using a Family Grain Mill Oat Flaker. This is what I do. I love them.

Yes, I am confused too over the difference between supermarket porridge oats and health shop oat groats. Is there a difference? What is the difference?

Hi, I'm also wondering about the oat milk that you buy in supermarkets ? would they use raw oats and is the product raw ? Thanks

Oat groats aren't flaked, like the ones you buy at the traditional store. They look like wheat berries. I believe that I have read somewhere that even some of those are lightly steamed. They are so much more cheaper than buying them already flaked. If you truly love oatmeal, I would strongly suggest getting a mill. Mine is hand cranked but you can also get them with motors.

Okay, I just checked my pail and I have rolled oat and after doing some research on-line I have concluded that oats, rolled or groat, are not raw. Unless you get them from the link left in the 2nd post on this thread.
So I'm totally bummed because I made, what I thought was raw granola, and added oats to it. The stuff was really and I mean really good, but now I know it was not 100% raw. Oh sad day.
