Welcome welcome welcome!!!
Welcome to the 30 day challenge.
If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!
Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!
We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.
We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!
In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.
Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,
Cherie

hello all! I didn't post this weekend, and.. ahem... I am not telling anybody why not!! ;-)
Today went very well, just craving salt so badly. Do we actually need all that much salt? I live in a really hot and humid region, so maybe that is why. There must be a few threads on salt on the forum, will take a look.
banana
frozen grapes (my new favorite!)
salad with lettuce, tomato, capsicum, asparagus and avo
a few crackers
corn on the cob
tomato
a few dried figs
carrot juice
I tried a few cracker recipes on the forum, and honestly I did not enjoy them all that much, and the other day I tried a crazy recipe that didn't turn out too badly. Still needs a bit of tweaking, its like a cracker/fruit leather combo, now that sounds disgusting but they are really okay to eat on their own.

Good morning! Sorry I didn't post this weekend but I had no internet access. :) It was a good weekend. Saturday it rained all day so we stayed home cuddling, drinking herbal tea and watching documentaries. Sunday was cleaning (Feng Shui) Day - clearing last week's clutter, organizing and getting ready for this week. :wuv
Saturday:
-Green Juice
-Brazil/Hemp burger + creamy collards & wild rice from SENBEB Cafe (local Raw restaurant) DELISH!
-Berry Cheesecake (also from Senbeb Cafe)
-Grapefruit
-Water for the rest of the day... Yes, that meal was so satisfying and filling that all I could do is drink water. :)
Sunday:
-Green Juice
-Salad & Collard Wrap
-Banana
-Grapefruit
Today's Plan:
-Green Juice
-Banana
-Salad with 1 avocado
-Smoothie
-Jamaican Jerk Collard Wrap if I am hungry, if not - water with lemon. :eat
Happy day# 7, everyone! Week#1 complete!
*hugs*

Gooooooood morning everyone!! :throwhearts:
Breakfast - Tried something a little different. I had some fruit that was in danger of going bad, so my smoothie is full of fruit today. 2 handfuls of kale, 1 handful of spinach, 5 tangelos, 2 handfuls of grapes, 1 slice of mango, ground flax seeds (about a teaspoon), ice, water. As usual, this made a liter.
It was a little bitter, but it went down. lol
Lunch - a cucumber sliced up, 3 stalks of celery sliced up, a lot of broccoli (not sure how much I put in there lol), and 1/2 of a red pepper sliced up. This will be eaten with some of the cheez sauce I made for my pizza last night.
:cheer: Have a beautifully RAWking day! :cheer:
Gooooooooood morning friends!!
I didn't post to the challenge the last couple days, but I'm still in it and doing GREAT!!!
Yesterday was my weekly technology fast, so I didn't touch the computer once. Now I'm psyched to be back on and in the world, connected once again!
We went to a BBQ yesterday (my husband, with family & friends)... My brother-in-law's sister (what is she to me?!) and her husband rented a vacation house for the weekend to party it up before they head back to the UK. It was AWESOME. They had a soccer field, swimming pool, lots of fruit trees, and a huge patio where they were barbequeing all weekend...
me?
I gorged myself on nice cold watermelon yesterday! The choice was obvious... rice, beans, putrefying animals... or red, ripe, juicy, watermelon!! I had some salad too at some point. When we were there for so long I was starting to get hungry, I just had some water and waited it out. I just LOVE how when you are raw for a long time, hunger is just hunger. Simple as that. No drop in blood sugar. No grumpy, tired, spacey nonsense. Just a little tummy rumble is all. No biggie!
SO, this morning, I started my day with some oil pulling (seriously, I'm obsessed with oil pulling (http://uncooking101.com/site/step-by-step-guide-on-how-to-oil-pull/)! lol!), then we had TWO monster-sized green smoothies with: banana macas ("apple" bananas -- sooo yummy!), fresh/local dandelion greens I got from the farmers market, and mangos from our mango tree, plus some ice (it's gonna be another fabulously hot day!)...
And I am STILL full at almost noon! I think I had about 2 liters of green smoothie?! With NO WATER, just some ice.
NO interest in lunch yet, but I've got a nice selection of veggies waiting for me to make a salad. :excited:
Hope you all have a FANTABULOUS DAY!!! It's gonna be a good one!!

Snack - a raw treat from Whole Foods that I picked up after work. It was made by the raw bakery (www.rawbakery.com (http://www.bluemountainorganics.com/therawbakery/) if anyone is interested). They claim to produce "raw, sprouted superfoods." It was a cacao walnut brownie and maaaaan was it delicious! After I scarfed it down I realized it had agave in it, which isn't raw...but it was too late by then. :o
Energy drink prior to P90X - 2 bananas, 5 dates, cacao powder w/maca, ice and enough water to mix
Recovery drink after P90X - kale, lettuce, celery, parsley, spinach, cacao powder with maca, ground flax, strawberries, banana, ice and enough water to mix
Link fixed

Had my usual grapefruit for breakfast. The were super large so I only had two this time.
Lunch was 4 bananas, sliced, with date sauce
Dinner was 1 pound of grapes blended into a drink. Butter lettuce salad with cucumbers, avocado, dressed with cucumber tangerine dressing. (the dressing almost tasted like an orange julius)

Hmm, I see. I wonder why. I just typed it in and the forum hyperlinked it automatically, but when I type it into my URL it gives the same error. Apparently their site is down...but I've typed it correctly the way it's typed on the back of the bag. I hadn't visited the site yet, was just posting it if anyone was interested in them. I'm bummed about this, I really wanted to read more about the company. I'll see what I can find out about them. They are out of Virginia.
ETA: All of those avocados are making me very happy just to look at them!! That's an AWESOME deal!

Hey Monk, thanks! I do enjoy when photos are posted also. It helps to give me ideas.
On the mangos......I have not had much luck with them lately. They have been sale so I stock up only to end up having to toss most of them. The appear nice and ripe on outside, but the insides are dark, and does not taste good. I have opened several that I thought were ripe but were not. :-(
Where are you have mangos shipped to you from?

Yes, we are so lucky to have that restaurant around us. So, our Raw day#1 was on October 23rd which happened to be the "Green Festival" here is DC. Senbeb Cafe has a stand where they sold "Live Platter" for $12.00. We were so thankful to have had the opportunity to try a gourmet raw dish on day#1. The meal was so satisfying and delicious that we were like "WE CAN DO THIS! OH YEAH!". We have been loyal customers ever since for out bi-weekly treat. :wuv They're awesome and the Chef is so amazing and down to earth.
