Welcome welcome welcome!!!
Welcome to the 30 day challenge.
If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!
Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!
We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.
We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!
In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.
Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,
Cherie

YAY Good Job Monk!!! :excited:
Not feeling so sluggish today. Umm my skin is still looking nice but I think it's too soon for the raw to be taking any effect so it's probably just my 'good' time of the month. Starting the day off with a big glass of water, as usual, and will see where the day takes me, foodwise. I think I'm going to make marinara sauce with zucchini noodles and maybe make some cheese sauce to drizzle on top. I'm feeling the need for something a little heavier than smoothies, juices and salads.
It is raining pretty hard here but I will probably go for a run today. I feel like I have more energy than I usually do when I've just woken up. :woot:
PS. I LOVE all the emoticons! :heart

Okay....so I made a little snackie....

This is RP (Raw Priestess) Brownies - 1 batch for the bottom, 1 for the top
& the "caramel" layer from "Carawmella" bars recipe on this site....
It is very sweet & has a destinctive "flavor" in the caramel layer from the superfoods that were added......this is breakfast/lunch.....lol :eat
I also had another cup of tea & 2 plump medjool dates.....:heart:
This should put a little "pep" in my step!! lol

congratulations Monk - what a great feeling !:cheer:
got off to a late start - having a smoothie with greens and mango
and for a snack a lemon ginger drink - I bought loads of meyers lemons.
lunch a salad and nori roll with avocado, carrot, salad stuff and wasabi
dinner i'll have bokchoy and crimini mushrooms with some type of dressing on them - probably tahini - I'm on a kick of tahini since the meyer lemon really enhances the flavor.
snack - apple with left over tahini
this sounds like alot of food - I'll probably skip dinner and just have the apple, oh, i forgot, I'm making peach crisp.

forgot to say - Monk - that brownie dish looks better then great - I'm getting my dehydrator this coming week. Is that a difficult dish to make?
where do I find the entire recipe - is it all in the book?

changing my meal plan - I just cut up into slices the best pineapple I have had in a long time (except in Hawaii) so I ate atleast 1/3 - shall we say enough to make my tongue feel funny. (I've done that with kiwis)
This mean lunch is officially over.
come dinner time, based on how hungry I am, I'll choose from what I wrote.
the apple stays!

Oooh, that snackie looks good monk. MUST try that!
My recovery drink after P90X: kale, spinach, parsley, lettuce, celery, cacao powder with maca, ground flax, 3 dates, ice, water, banana
Energy Drink prior to P90X - Today I didn't have my Daterade instead I had a smoothie 30 mins before my workout - 2 bananas, 4 dates, water, ice and cacao powder with maca. It kept my energy levels up nicely! :cheer:
Dinner - Marinated Portabella Mushroom: marinated in coconut aminos. Topping with Morin's cheese, Alissa's pizza marinara (tweaked some) and the following veggies: green, yellow and red bell peppers, onion, spinach and maybe some roma tomato...we'll see after I pile it all on.
My portabella is still dehydrating...I can't wait!! Lemme go check on it. hehehe
ETA: Pic of my dinner! It's not delivery...and it not's DiGiorno either!

Here's the recipe!!
It's RP's brownies for the bottom & top layer
1 cup walnuts
1 cup dates
1/4 cup cacao powder
Put in food processor until small chunks
Then it's the "caramel" layer from carawmellas
Caramel layer:
¼ cup maca powder
1/8 cup mesquite powder
1/8 cup lucuma
1 cup agave or honey
2 heaping T. Almond butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
Pinch Celtic sea salt
Put in bowl & mix.....I used all agave, because most of my honey is crystalized....I also used cashew butter, because I don't have almond butter.....
Make the first layer of brownies - press into pan/dish, then make the caramel layer....put is freezer to let it set up....1hr....then make other layer of brownies & press on top of caramel.....I didn't let mine set up enough & the caramel layer was very gooey....I put them back in the freezer & will keep them there.....
It was super sweet & tasted strongly of maca....I like maca, so I don't mind....gave me a little energy too!
No dehydrator needed!!! Just your freezer!!!!
Enjoy~

Dinner is served!!
This looks vaguely familiar from the other night....lol, but I have the addition of rich cheddar sauce with it tonight!!
I got this recipe from goneraw, but I think it's on this site as "da bomb cheddar sauce", or something like that....
Here's the recipe:
1 cup raw cashews, sunflower seeds or almonds
½ large red bell pepper
¼ cup water
2 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoon nutritional yeast
1 tablespoon tahini
1½ teaspoon sea salt
1 clove garlic
2 teaspoon onion powder (or a small slice of onion or 1 Tbsp of green onion)
Preparation:
Blend all ingredients until creamy. Add more water if it is too thick.
I will save some for lunch tomorrow!!! :eat

I was just in the kitchen, deciding on what to pack for lunch tomorrow...and decided that your dinner would be my lunch. Since I've got the cheez all made anyway. LOL Yep, gonna slice up a cucumber, some celery and instead of tomato I think I'll slice up some bell pepper. Yuuuum! Thanks for the idea! Nice and simple! :throwhearts:
