Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

:excited: Wooo Hoooooo! Good day to all!! Today has been FABULOUS thus far!! Started my day with a kick butt workout! :excited:

Breakfast - 3/4 of banana and 5 dates ( I was prepping for my P90X workout and didn't want to eat too heavy, but needed some energy)

Snack - kinda? Daterade; I drank this (and water) during my workout to keep my energy levels up

Recovery drink (following P90X workout this am) - kale, celery, lettuce, parsley, 1/2 an orange, 1/4 of a banana (it was all I had left lol), cacao powder with maca, ground flax seed and the dates, water and ice left over from my Daterade

Lunch - Gazpacho with broccoli on top (YUUUUUUUUM!) I've gradually decreased the amount of olive oil I use in this and am now down to 1 teaspoon (the recipe calls for 2 tablespoons). I'm starting to believe I don't need it at all and will leave it out next time. I always use extra onion, cayenne and garlic...just cause I love it so much. I even sprinkled more cayenne on top of the broccoli that I put on top.

I'm sipping on some water now...not sure what dinner will be later on, though I'm eye'ing the 2 portabella mushrooms I have left.

 Have a WONDERFUL day everyone!!!!!!

Where the heck did everyone go today?!

Well.....I've only had 2 cups of tea today & water....so, I decided to make a quick, filling recipe.....This will be my breakfast/lunch/dinner...all rolled into 1....lol

Shredded sweet potato/yam....

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll105/monkapotapus/2-5-11ShreddedYams001.jpg

Shred a sweet potato/yam.....(this is 2...I'm super hungry!!!)
Then in a small food processor mix: olive oil, cut up cherry tomatoes, garlic, a little cayenne, sea salt & black pepper.....
Mix together with sweet potatoes & eat "as is"....or put it in the dehydrator for a couple hours....that's what I like to do.....I usually sprinkle the top with a little more black pepper & sea salt....mmmm:drool::eat

Ooooooh monk, that looks AND sounds WONDERFUL!!! I'm going to have to try that!

Dinner - lettuce wraps with a thin layer of avocado, a layer of fresh SPICY salsa and topped with mung bean sprouts. YUUUUUUM! This is how my taste buds reacted=> :excited: hahahaha I was staaaaarving, had been out for a long time (longer than anticipated) shopping with my daughter and running errands. Came in and DOVE into the kitchen. :p

The shredded sweet potato/yams were delicious!! I like them when they start to get slightly dried out & a little more chewy...mmmmm
