Welcome welcome welcome!!!
Welcome to the 30 day challenge.
If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!
Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!
We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.
We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!
In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.
Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,
Cherie

Happy Day #3! :
Jeannie Anytime is a good time for Avocado! :D
Well, last night the Juicing screen on my Omega Juicer Broke in three pieces. This happened when I tried to juice wheatgrass and put the pulp through a second time. The Auger was not in there correctly which caused it to break. :thud: So, I am scrambling around trying to find an online store that will ship the piece by tomorrow. We have had our morning green juice EVERY day for the last 100+ days. This morning I put all my greens through the juicer with the solid screen and then put it in the blender with a banana, water and some honey. Hellooooooo breakfast Smoothie (Very filling!). No Vitamix yet so we have to work with what we have. It came out to be A LOT and now I have another smoothie to drink in a couple hours.
Last night I ended up doing the same thing by having my afternoon smoothie at 3pm. I was not hungry all afternoon and just drank water. I am really starting to like going to bed feeling light and not eating late.
Today's plan:
Green Smoothie
Blueberries
Orange
Green Smoothie
We will see if my body asks for anything after these two very filling smoothies. Wheeew.
Have a fantastic day, everyone!!! :dread:

Good morning everyone!!! *waves* :cheer:
Yayy, for great customer service Delise!
Today's Food:
Breakfast - The usual suspect, my green smoothe: kale, banana, ground flax, cacao powder with maca, ice, water
I brought the following to work today:
Snack - strawberries
Lunch
apple
roma tomato
broccoli
sliced yellow bell pepper
left over salsa
lettuce leaves
I haven't decided if I'm going to rip up the lettuce and make this a salad and use the salsa as my "dressing" or if I'll make lettuce wraps. We'll see when lunch time rolls around. I really wish I had an avocado...maybe run up to the grocery store and get one.

i started a 90% raw food diet 3 weeks ago and didn't feel good after 2 days (detox I guess). since feb 1, I am 100%. I feel very good, awake and happy the last days. perhaps I am over the detox for now. I almost gave up, because I was soo tired all the time.
I will try to make kimchi the next days.I got a book about fermentation. it seems to be easy....

The Omega Co. is very good. I have had to send my whole machine to them. The second time they were going to charge me for postage, but explained that this was not the first time having issues with it, they didn't end up charging me. Talk sweet and explain you are a raw foodist who refers lots of others to their product, and you really want to keep buying their product because they are good to you.

MmmHmmm! You're completely right! They're not even charging me for overnight shipping. I even offered to pay for it because I NEEDS it. LOL We are very happy with their customer service. I did mention we were raw foodists and that we drink juices every day. They were really amazing!.

Thank you, Delise!
So far I have eaten a big bowl of sprouts, some Medjool dates with walnuts, a pear and a couple of more bananas. I was getting bad food cravings and I opened the refrigerator door and found some minced bbq chicken I had cooked earlier for my dd. The craving was so bad I actually had the bowl out of the refrigerator with the lid off before I thought "Let me go touch base with someone before I lose my six day!" So here I am.
I hope everyone is doing well! Happy raw fooding to you!

Stevia is a sweetener that comes from the sweet leaf of a stevia plant~ native to South America. I prefer the liquid extract of Stevia rebaundiana and notice I use very little to gain sweetness. I have also enjoyed using Stevia Sweet Leaf packets that I can carry in my purse when out. It does contain fiber. Because of its sweetness, I use it sparingly. You can find more information at www.steviaextractintheraw.com Just be careful of packets like Truvia~ which I have heard contains Stevia along with other ingredients~don't know much about it. Happy Challenge Day!

wasn't able to post - emergency with a flood in one of the rentals we manage, many hours, stress with neighbor, etc, blah, blh, blah. but stayed raw.
the desert is not used to 32 degree whether so pipes are freezing and cracking! Had another one late this afternoon.
B- I'm in love with collard greens, they're sweet and tender, but I know I have to rotate, so I'll start that tomorrow. I had it in my smoothie with mixed fruit, and the usual, maca, etc. oh, I started using ginger, and I thought I wouldn't like it, but it really enhanced the flavor of the smoothie. quite impressed.
L- avocado with sprout bread, tomato and the organic herb salad.
S - apple slices, cantaloupe
S - orange
D- munched on raw bok choy, delicious while cooking dinner for husband.
and then made a hemp smoothie with left over coconut from young coconut, carob, sstrawberries, apple.
There's no turning back. I love the taste of raw food, and it's so alive!
