Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

Hi Jeannie! Great to see you up for another challenge -- way to stick it out -- and already you're at the sleeping less stage! AWESOME! I'll join you here in the Southern Hemisphere, enjoying the fresh in-season fruit along with ya in the summer's heat!

TODAY's food:
Snacked on a guava [ended up eating 4 of these and 2 nectarines!]
Was hungry at 8:30 for a cuke & tomato salad, this time with the "caipeira" variety of cukes, which are lighter in color and sort of fat. (I never saw them outside of Brazil before...)
Still not interested in the green smoothie my hubby made for me at 6am. It's just hanging out on the table. [Finally drank it!]
[Also ate an arugula salad, and a sunflower seed pate with some Indian flavors]

So, that's it so far...

Looking forward to a VERY HOT day. It's already in the 80's, and it's not even 9am yet!

Hi, I have already begun my raw foods challenge and was super excited to see that you have a challenge going on. I would love to join as well. I started on Mon. 1/31. I have recently moved and am trying to find my box with my Raw Foods recipe books! I have found my dehydrator, blender and juicer so I am thrilled about that! I have even found that my kids are now trying everything I make (and loving it!)
Today I had fruit smoothie with oranges, apples, banana, coconut, berries, & almonds~ yummy!
For lunch I had a spinach salad with raw pumpkin seeds, tomato, carrot, cucumber and spiraled up some zucchini to make it look "pretty". I used a dressing from a Raw Vegan Restaurant up north made of Raw Agave, Raw apple cider vinegar and a tad of olive oil. It was so good!!!!!

Aleesha, I just wanted to thank you again for the super fun emotiocons! They help me stay in the right mindset

I'm doing awesome on the challenge! I've been here for awhile, since the summer, but I just couldn't wrap my brain around being raw. I was sort of hung up on the social aspect and I was also nervous about "doing it" right and getting the right nutrients, ect. I bought food just before the blizzard happened, and it ended up being such a blessing because all I could eat all was raw...I was holed up in my little place and I couldn't buy any other foods. I really feel like I've smashed through the wall of my hang-ups and now I can come out on top. :woot:

I wasn't on the internet yesterday, which I think was a good thing (sometimes I feel like an internet junkie). So here's what I had on the first...
Breakfast: nori roll with hummus, red pepper, and greens
lunch: cucumber soup (note to self: I do NOT like raw soup. I keep thinking I might, but I just don't and it makes my stomach feel weird.
snack: Dates, apple, banana
Dinner bananas and blueberries with almond mylk

...And here's what I had today:
Breakfast: Bananas and blueberries with almond mylk. I LOVE this, but I probably won't be able to have it for awhile, because I did a workout DVD too soon afterwards and the combination of mylk + workout made me feel queasy! Silly, silly me.
Lunch: Avocado/cucumber/onion concoction with leafy greens rolled up in a nori roll
dinner: wasn't feeling very hungry, even though I had just gotten back from a long walk. (Probably not hungry because I've been eating so much fat). So I just had lemon water, banana, seedless clementine, and an apple.

I am just so thankful that I had the foresight to get so much food before the big storm!

Good luck to you all you rawbees out there :throwhearts:

Recovery drink after P90X work out: kale, celery, lettuce, parsely, banana, strawberries, ground flax, cacao powder w/maca, ice, water and pitted medjool dates (the latter 3 being leftovers from my Daterade that I drank during my work out).

Dinner - Not really hungry, but I'm uber thirsty so I've been drinking lots of water.

Looks like a fabulous day everyone! Keep RAWking it out!

Hi Eva! Thanks, for the encouragement! Just curious, is it unusual to need less sleep only a month or 2 into raw?

The heat is pretty intense up here at the moment, too! I thought when I moved to a hot climate the pounds would drop off but... it doesn't work that way apparently... well,... okay ...I was still on a cooked diet back then..
