Okay... Just gotta say !!!

We just picked up Coconut Nectar as a replacement for recipes. We are not fans of Agave and have stayed away from it. The nectar does not have a coconut taste at all but it is a fantastic sweetener. This is our sweetener going forward! :woot:

I've been using it too. It's not nearly as sweet as the agave, but I'm still tinkerin' with it! One of these days I want to make some date paste too. Nice to have some other options, isn't it? *Ü*

I'll add that to my list on my next visit to the store.

I desperately wish this product (and the sugar, and aminos) were avialable in Australia!

I've been hassling the company about whether they have a distributor yet in Aust. The shipping costs to get it here from online stores (IF they ship to Australia) are more than the cost of the products! :(

Oh no! Really? I can't believe they don't have a distributor out there. Their products are truly amazing! We use their Coconut Aminos, the coconut Nectar and their Raw coconut vinegar. They have to start selling this over there soon. They have to! :wuv

Oh yes it is, Debb! The Nectar worked great with a chocolate cheesecake I made the other day. I also like Maple Syrup (just a fan of the 'woody' taste). Let me know how that date paste goes! Haven't had the chance to try any leather or paste recipes yet. :wuv

Sad to say they haven't, that i know of anyway. I haven't spoken to them for about two months, might emailed them again and see what's happening!

I have this product because I want to replace agave too. When I tried it (on a spoon of course on its own hehehe) I wasn't too excited about the flavor. Definitely no coconut flavor more like a pancake syrup flavor.
I've been scared to try it in a recipe.... Because its so similar to a maple syrup I could see how it would be good in a chocolate recipe though... hmmm...
I should just go for it and give it a try!

Delise - what's in your chocolate cheesecake filling?

Date paste is good, has a nice caramel flavor.

I have to agree 100%! I love this stuff, wish I could get it here in Brazil more easily!

Plenty of info in this thread on it:

I'm going to try their nectar. Right now I'm in love with their coconut aminos as a replacement for Braggs, Nama Shoyu & Tamari. :eat:

Finally remembered to pick this up. I got a bottle the other day when I got more aminos. Looking forward to using it this weekend! :heart

Ah sorry for being so late! LOL
Chocolate cheesecake filling: Soaked cashews, lemon juice, Coconut Juice/meat, cacao powder, vanilla bean, Maca, Lucuma, Yacon, & Coconut Nectar. I was just playing around and this came out... Amazing!

I must add that I absolutely love this stuff. I just wish it wasn't $10 a bottle. If you need something sweet just get a nip from the bottle and you'll be satisfied!

Dont know if this will help or not but it might be worth looking into....

Having read similar scenarios regarding motorcycle parts and such, I just had the idea. Suppose you could hook up with someone who is already ordering something from the states. For example-a person ordering add-on parts for their Ducati or Holden through a private party abroad. Perhaps the person shipping the parts would be willing to purchase the nectar and include it in the package? Not sure how the charges are figured......is each item levied a tax and charge upon, or does it just go by total weight/size of package? Or what about ordering a case and splitting with friends to help absorb the shipping?

I would think that someway you could network or coop with somebody to reduce the cost. But then I've never shipped abroad and know nothing about the fee structure.

Thanks Streetsurfer, :)

I ended up buying from a New Zealand online store as they have a distributor in New Zealand. Weirdly enough, a country of 4 million gets a distributor before a country of 20 million! But meh...

I'll keep emailing them to see of they have an Australian distributor yet, I loved the aminos and sugar granules, the coconut nectar is nice but I still prefer dates.

Whats wrong with the agave?

Whats wrong with the agave?

It's not raw. The process involved to make it uses heat (140 to 160 degrees Fahrenheit) in order to concentrate it and also to enhance the sweetness.

Some people don't sweat this but since it is possible to get raw foods that will sweeten, it seems to many to be pointless and expensive to buy agave.

I use dates or honey
