So i've had a Vitamix blender for a couple months now and using it more and more. About a week ago i decided to start juicing as well.
I dug out an ancient juicer ( Juiceman Jr ) from some closet and juiced some carrots, beets and apples with it. I enjoyed that a lot. I felt though that my centrifugal juicer wasn't extracting enough of the juice so i did some research and this weekend ordered the Green Star juicer to get better yield as well as to be able to process a greater variety of produce.
So as i said i am really enjoying carrot, beet and apple juices right now ... what to try next ?
I want to keep smoothies as the cornerstone of the diet, and use Juices mostly as a dessert of sorts or as something added to my smoothies to manipulate their taste and texture.
So far i am blending frozen berries from costco ( strawberry, blueberry, and some berry mix they got ) with either spinach and/or spring mix. i tried blending kale and frankly i couldn't handle the taste. I also put Nutiva Hemp Protein and Vitamineral Green into my smoothies for extra nutrition.
So hopefully i will get the Green Star this week and i am looking forward to your recommendations as to what to put in it :)
Also welcome recommendations for what to put into the blender. I can drive to any store in Brooklyn and I have access to Whole Foods Market in Manhattan via subway.
