i'm thinking that after today... i should definitely do a chocolate fast. :wuv nothing but chocolate for 210 days. :excited: now THAT would be fun!!! :eat
i used two different recipes today (yes I'll share them both with you)... and i have to say they are so different and so yummy. i had all the ingredients in the house so it was perfect. i do want to pick up some peppermint flavouring though cause i love mint.
here's the first (monk's recipe that i used... not sure where she got it from)
I added lots of shredded coconut, cacao nibs and chia seeds to this recipe. put it on a cookie sheet with parchment paper... squished it down with a large spoon and put it in the freezer. then i took it out, cut it into pieces, placed it in a ziploc container and back into the freezer for snacking on later. - Aleesha
Chocolate Sauce
1 cup coconut oil, extra virgin - melt this first
1/2 cup cashew butter
1/3 agave nectar
1/2 cup raw cacao powder
Place all ingredients in the Vita-mix. Blend until smooth.
I usually like to add raisins (they really bring out the choc flavors), or soaked/dehydrated buckwheat (this gives it a nestle crunch feel...) - by hand to a bowl with the choc & then mix in.....I put the chocolate in little plastic candy molds - then put them in the freezer for like 30min - pop them out of the mold & store in a plastic glad container in the freezer......
Hope you like it! - Monk
Now the next recipe: I call this one Chocolate Slab! Cause I didn't have molds so I made a slab and will just cut off pieces when I want some!
I added chia seeds to this one and substituted raw cinnamon honey for the agave. REALLY good! The amount in the picture is 4 times the recipe.
Ingredients for Simple Chocolate:
1/2 C cacao powder
1/8 C melted cacao butter
1/4 C blue agave
1 drop orange essential oil
Preparation:
Start by placing raw cocoa butter into the dehydrator. It melts at 90 degrees.
Now that your raw cocoa butter is melted, slowly stir all of the chocolate ingredients together by hand. Next add the agave and the essential oil until well blended.
Place the mixture into candy molds that you can find at any craft store, I found mine at Michael's for $1.99. They have all kinds of cute molds, every kind you can imagine and you may even be able to find some fun Halloween molds and think about Christmas coming up too. If your molds are clear, the tops of the chocolates will appear hazy. Turn the molds over and push them out from the back.
These are delicious!
and now... pics! you can tell my dogs think that anything in the kitchen should be theirs LOL they wanted a treat...
this is the first time i've made chocolate in all the time i've been raw :encore: and i have to say... it was soooooooooo simple to do. so simple. shockingly simple.
