So I haven't been traking my calories or anything while I have been eating raw. Used to do it all the time when eating SAD. But I was curious to see how many calories and such I was eating. So I went to a website and started tracking what I ate! First let me say that I have been raw since November and I went from a size 10 to a size 4/6(please keep that in mind). So I punched in a couple of recipes that I use all the time and I was amazed at how many calories I was actually eating! There is a basic salad dressing that I use, that is 3 tbsp of olive oil, 2 tsp. of acv, 1 tbsp of agave nectar this dressing is enough for one salad and it is 437 calories! The almond flaxseed burgers that I just love:drool:they are 784 calories! I couldn't believe it! I truly am eating more than I did when I was eating SAD! I am not stopping eating raw, I just thought how funny it is, that my eating the right foods you can still lose weight, and enjoy your foods, and become healthy on the inside as well as the outside. Just wanted to share this! Thanks for letting me!

I need to figure out some of what you're eating. I eat tons of flax, oils, greens, coconut, avocados and a bunch of other stuff and I am STILL losing weight. I am very tiny and need to gain weight so it is frustrating. I have tried tracking my calories and for some reason my results are not coming up as much as yours. *scratches head*

Becky....those almond flax burgers sound intriguing.... where did you find the recipe?

Thanks!

I went to livestrong.com and put every in and they tally it up. I also put the in recipes and they figure it out. I think when you don't put it in as a recipe it may come out a little less. I am not sure, but I am going to do it for a week and see what happens.

As far as the burger recipes it came from the Thrive Diet by Brendan Brazier. There is a thread on here with the recipe. I just don't know how to attach the link to here.

Alissa demonstrates that in her book. She talks about a friend who was unhealthy and looking to eliminate excess weight. Alissa said she'd make all the food. The woman said she was eating more than before and eliminating like crazy. Very cool, eh?

I had the same ecperience here. My husband was look at my meal, whihc he said that I could not get enough calorie to fuel my body. All while munching a seriously SAD fast food lunch. So I caculated the callories in my meal and the ones in his burger and he was shocked to find that I was eating 4 less calories than his burger, LOL!

4 less calories, a million times the nutrition and a thousand times less death. :D

Same experience here. I am eating around 3000 kcalories per day. This is 800 or so more than I was eating before raw and I am 138 now compared to ~144 non raw. Crazy isn't it?

I know it is crazy! Good but crazy how we can eat so much more food and still lose weight! I love it! What was really funny was I thought that I wasn't getting enough food especially when I was exercising, but now I know that I am wrong! That makes me happy!:woohoo:

nutritiondata.com often counts the calories in fiber even though fiber is not digested and in fact binds other nutrients in food from being absorbed.
