Clinton C. Cox declared this about the deliverance thankfulness can
give us, "John Henry Jowett said, 'Gratitude is a vaccine, an antitoxin,
and an antiseptic.' This is a most searching and true diagnosis.
Gratitude can be a vaccine that can prevent the invasion of a disgruntled
attitude. As antitoxins prevent the disastrous effects of certain poisons
and diseases, thanksgiving destroys the poison of fault-finding and
grumbling. When trouble has smitten us, a spirit of thanksgiving is a
soothing antiseptic."

Today I am thankful for:

1) My faith in God
2) My wonderful, loving, supportive family
3) My wonderful, loving, supportive raw foodie friends on this site
3) 2 feet and a heartbeat
4) I am thankful that I am sick right now. I believe that, is it through this illness and me getting better by eating raw and taking better care of myself, that I will someday be able to help others get well.
5) The weeping willows in my backyard. I've wanted one all my life and now I have two. :)

What are YOU thankful for?

I am thankful for God. If it were not for Him and the knowledge I have that I am His and that He loves me, life would be SOOOO much harder.

I am thankful that the weather is finally breaking in Phoenix and that the days are now cooler. Today is the first day the windows have been open since before summer!

I am thankful for the birds in the trees. I love to hear them sing.

I am thankful for a husband who treats me with love and respect and supports me in my desire to get well through raw food and other things.

I am thankful I am alive.

I am sooo thankful for my kitties, Tricuit and Sarah. They have aided in my healing process.

I am thankful for friends both here and elsewhere.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude (and humbled) for those who maybe not-so-willingly, but willingly sacrifice their lives over in the middle east to help promote peace.

I am thankful for a bed to sleep in and food to eat.

As a result, I am trying to eat more consciously, pray with more meaning, and give without thought. May we all do something that will make this world better today.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, I am going to miss my "Tofurkey" that I had for Thanksgiving last year :(

I guess this year, I will be making mock giblet gravy :) and I will have to figure out something else to go with it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We still have your geese! Honkers they are... neat flyers. I have a piece about them in my 30 Day Journal : "Lessons from Geese".

How did you celebrate?

Tofurkey? I saw that at the healthfood store and busted out laughing - until I found RAWrkey - and said, "Well, there ya go!" Full-circle.

I'm going to try the rawrkey recipe.
