Hello! I have a couple of questions about exercising and doing a juice feast. I currently run every three days. I do about 3.5 to 4 miles, and increasing that every week by .5. I want to do a 10k by July, I also do strength training on the other two days. I was able to find a raw protein mix that I do use after I am exercising.

So my question is how many of you have done juice feasting/fasting and still did your normal workouts? I know that our body is suppose to be healing while we are on the feating/fasting, I just really want to do but I don't want to stop working out. Any suggestions would be great! I do know that when I run I am extra hungry and tend to eat a little bit more then on non running days.

Thanks for any kind of advice, I know that I will get good advice from people on here!:excited:

im 52 and ive done a ten day water fast lifting weights and running 2 or 5 miles every day while working 8 hours days doing medium duty landscape work

to me its a great feeling to keep pushing and in the process gaining a greater control over your appetite / will power . all kinds of those days on the 10 day water it was 90 degrees and i thought ide pass out at work but i kept pushing it and i cant wait to do it many more times

weve become too used to eating too much and too often ,
we can go way longer without eating then we do and its a good thing to
work on gaining greater control over appetite

Thank you so much for the advice. I guess I will just do it. You are right we do spend way to much time on eating and when to eat and when not to eat!!

Hello Beckyh! How long was your juice feast? How did it go? I am asking because I plan on going on a 30day juice feast on March 1st and want to stay active at least 6/7 days a week. :)

Delise~I have to be honest, I was very nervous and afraid to do it and I didn't do it. I have such a hard time focusing and whenever I do a feast, or fast I don't exercise because I think I am not getting enough of what I need. One day I am going to just do it, I am just not sure when. I am going to watch your progress and see how you do with staying active.

delise, if your focus is to exercise then yup you can sure do it.

when we are fasting our body has X amount of energy. we have a choice... we can use it to heal our cells, we can use it to release weight (through more exercise), it's totally our call.

i've exercised while fasting before and i had heaps of energy to do it. just remember to drink lots of juice! don't limit yourself.

(((hugs))) to you on your fast!

Zuri and I are doing this together and both want to stay active during our feast. We will start a "Exercising While Feasting" Thread on March 1st and will post our workouts/results/progress on there. :excited:

If the term fast is in reference to consuming only water, no I have not and I don't think I'd want to try it.

I have exercised while on a cleanse however. Specifically, the Master Cleanse which is liquid only. The last time I cleansed for three weeks and ran 10km 2x/week. I have to say that my runs were absolutely euphoric and that's not an exaggeration. I felt like I was on happy pills. I also had an abundance of energy and felt like I could go for another 10km after my run. That doesn't happen under normal circumstances. I did refrain from lifting weights as it makes no sense to me to tear muscle when I'm not consuming enough aminos/protein to rebuild them. My assumptions could be wrong but I figure I can take a three week break from lifting weights while cleansing. On a closing note, I have heard that exercising helps make the cleansing process more efficient (don't know how exactly but I presume by the breakdown and regeneration of cells during exercise).
