have been doing a lot of research on sea veggies and how good they are for people with thyroid issues. I personally do have a thryoid issue. So i was wondering how many of you eat a lot of sea veggies and how do you incorporate them into your daily meals. Thanks!:wuv

I love sea veggies. I use kelp or dulse granules or powder in soups and on salads. You can also get nori sheets to make delicious wraps.

Like Dimond, I add kelp and dulse granules to most meals, just sprinkle them on - painless :)

I'm not a big sea weed fan, so mine have to be pretty mild tasting. I also make nori wraps. Here's one of my favorite recipes that I enjoy. My notes are in [...]

This recipe is adapted from Donna Gates’ The Body Ecology Diet.

Raw Food Recipe - Cucumber Arame Salad

1.5 Oz of Arame [I use 1oz, which is 1/2 a package]
4 cucumbers, peeled and very thinly sliced
2 tsp. sea salt
1 red pepper, diced
1 small red onion, diced
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp unrefined oil
pinch of pepper

Soak arame for 15 mins [I like soaking it longer] in enough water to cover. Sprinkle sea salt on cucumbers and let set for several minutes to release juices. Discard soaking water from arame. Chop arame and add to cucumbers. Add all other ingredients and toss!

Thanks Aleesh, I didn't know they made that. I will look for it.

I add dulse to every single green smoothie. And sometimes I sprinkle it on a salad.

Sea veggies, one of my ultimate treats!

I'm thinking about eating them right now as I type, which is rather tragic as I'm on a fast.. :(

My favourite way to have sea veggies is to tear up some raw nori sheets and put them in a bowl of warm water. Add celtic salt, lemon juice, and a dash of cold pressed oil. If I want to get a little fancy I'll also add chopped spring onions and some finely chopped tomatoes. Brilliant! I keep nori sheets and some lemons in my draw at work for just such a treat, it's my 'cup a soup' :excited:

Hmmm... I need to keep out of food threads perhaps...

oh, I also love seaweed salad, soak a broad leaved seaweed such as kombu, finely slice into strips and marinade with a bit of garlic, lemon juice, pinch of salt and some sesame seeds.

same, I put some dulse leaf into green smoothies, they probably also enhance the flavour a bit from the natural salt content.
