Honestly? No. Why does a 'wink' now look like a dancing chicken? This misrepresents the original intended meaning in a good many posts, mine included. It's not feasible for me to go back and edit numerous old posts, just to remove dancing chickens, and it's not fair that people's old posts have been scuppered, retrospectively, by the automatic implementation of these characters. Can we please have dancing chickens reserved for those who specifically WANT a dancing chicken (I take no issue with that at all), rather than those who simply wish(ed) to wink?

Sorry I sounded stroppy - was just a bit peeved that hundreds of posts on the forum, by many well-meaning folks, had been undermined at a single stroke, that's all, and couldn't see the rationale behind doing that. It seemed inconsiderate.

Thankyou for altering it.

We used to have a nice 'wink' that really looked like a wink (before the forum software was changed - when we moved over to vBulletin, it became a silly wide-toothed grin, that looked virtually identical to a... well, a wide-toothed grin!). Any chance we could have the old proper 'wink' reinstated?

I figured that if no one complained... it would be a fun little something on the forum. I changed it 2.5 weeks ago... and not a peep until now. So I figured people were enjoying it.

Sure, as I said, I've nothing against it - the more smilies the merrier; my only concern was that a dancing chicken isn't a wink, so the two should be distinguished from one another, that's all.
