Hi,

I want to prepare myself for a raw diet by first stocking up on raw ingredients, but I must be aware of what I can and cannot have. I also have a corn and gluten intolerance, and I know that many vanilla extracts contain these ingredients. I have no idea if there are any vanilla products that even raw. Does anyone know of a raw vanilla that is also corn and gluten free other than straight vanilla beans?

I usually use vanilla bean, but when I want a liquid, I have some certified organic Pure vanilla extract made by 'simply organic'. It is not a raw product, but it is gluten and sugar free.

The ingredients list: Organic vanilla bean extractives in water, organic alcohol.

I bought this at Whole Foods, but you can visit their website at www.simplyorganicfoods.com (http://www.simplyorganicfoods.com)

Health food stores generally have bulk sections, where they will have vanilla beans, pods, and powder.

I use raw ground vanilla bean from Ultimate. Though just keep in mind; vanilla isn't really a necessity when uncooking, it's like a spice you only use every now and then (imho). If it's difficult/expensive for you to obtain I wouldn't stress over it. (:

Our co-op sells Organic Vanilla Beans for $4 each. VANILLA IS and has been my favorite thing EVER! It's delicious on anything! :)

The vanilla taste and smell brings about happy memories of my grandmother from my childhood.

I buy my vanilla beans on Ebay. I found a seller who sells them for 25 cents a piece. That price includes shipping cost. Yay!

P.S. I love the new smilies!

Thanks for the suggestions! I think it would be hard for me to live without vanilla and cacao. I think my best bet is to buy them online. Whole Foods is quite pricey.
