View Full Version : My first Raw Smoothie!

So I went and spent a ton on fruits and veggies and totally forgot to get nuts. I figure that can wait until the next grocery shopping. I got my blender and made my first smoothie.
I did two hand fulls of spinach, 1 green apple, 2 bananas, ice, and water. I threw in an extra banana because the kids wanted more of a banana taste. It was ok, pretty good, want to make one more tangier tomorrow though. I like sour/tangy tastes lately.

Sounds good. =] Have you got a pineapple? That would be plenty of sour for you. ^-^
My favorite smoothie lately is banana, kiwi and coconut. Oh, and spinach, but I forget because you can't really taste it. :p

I wasn't sure how many I would need for the week, but I got two of them. I'll try that tomorrow. Thanks!

Just make sure you include something with a smoother texture as well like a banana, mango or papaya, otherwise you'll end up with a pretty watery smoothie. :)

I love my green smoothies. I have 2 glasses a day. One for breakfast and one for dinner. I put in a green of some sort and then usually a banana or two and some other fruit that I have on hand.

Hey, congrats on your first raw smoothie! :)
I too like tangy tastes with my smoothie, so I put in citrus fruits like lemon and orange to get that zing. The other good thing about citrus fruits is that they contain vitamin C, which aids in the absorption of iron from the greens, BONUS!
