Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

Hello everyone! Breakfast was Banana and pak choi smoothie with a dash of honey, sprinkled with pomegranate seeds.

My crackers came out pretty good! I won't eat them just like that, on their own, but with a big pile of guacamole on top.. heaven! That was my lunch.

The other half of this morning's pomegranate for a snack

Avo, carrot, lettuce and alfafa sprout nori rolls.

Today I was reading that one should not eat too many alfafa sprouts, that they are bad for you? I have been eating them almost every day, and lots, too! Can anyone tell me why they are bad for you and how much is a reasonable quantity to consume?

I Broke my juice fast gently today.
Went to the er last night and had an emergancy appedectomy at 11pm. Knowing 'they' would make me eat food, I backed an apple & a pear before I left last night. Postsurgery I did not want to eat fruit, my throat Hirt from the trac. So, dh made me a pear spinach smoothie and brought it for my first meal today.
It amazes me how unnutritious hospital food is! Really, jello?! I have a lot of good allergies and for the first time was very thankful for them. Much easier way to 'justify' raw food lifestyle to skeptics. Especially since I did not feel up to a food debate after coming out of surgery. Just got home, plan on sticking to juice & smoothies for a while- seeking purity after A LOT of medication.

Today I enjoyed
lots of water
pear spinach smoothie
apple blueberry smoothie

(and being out of extreme pain!)

light & love...

Just read my post
"good" allergies was intended to be food allergies. But as I stated I was thankful and apparently I still am. :)

Alfalfa sprouts - I recently read something about the gov't allowing the 'farmer's we don't care for to plant their crops with pestisides near the alfalfa crops, therefore infecting them with the pesticide. Now, I'm not sure if it has already started - I thought there was a date for the vote on this issue. And I am not good at relaying info, so best to find out online.

breakfast did juicing - the usual
miday I had portobella mushrooms and bok choy with some oil.
this eve I had peach with a nut pieshell and crumble on top. yum!
will have kiwi before bed

I've had a wonderful weekend on the coast and ate raw. I kept it simple, eating fruit throughout the day and big salads at night and felt amazingly well!

Another amazingly raw day! My menu today:

green tea/water
green smoothie: chia, kale, spinach, parsley, banana, apple, 1/2 lime, blueberries, ginger & cinnamon
coleslaw w/sunflower seeds
miso soup
a few cheezits
corn chips w/ cheese
apple

The longer I'm eating this way the better I feel! I know it, but it's still so amazing! Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday tomorrow.
