Hi,

I am new to the board and raw foods. I would like to transition to an all raw food diet but am not sure of how to best cleanse my system. Is there a standard, pre-raw foods diet fast? How long do I need to fast before I start my raw diet? Is lemmon in water sufficient? I have come across many different cleansing fasts that claim to prepare you for an all raw diet, but I would like some additional advice on which one is best for me. If anyone could share a bit of their knowledge, I would be utterly grateful.

Thank you!

Eating raw food can cleanse your system. And it's typically recommended that before a fast you eat a raw food diet for several days or more.

Fasting though will cleanse you deeper and quicker than a raw food diet.

Do you own a juicer? That'll make a difference in the type of fast you can do. I didn't own one during my first fast so I did the master cleanse. I still can't stand the taste of that concotion, and it's been nearly a year. LOL Not to turn off of the MC, that's just what's happened to me. Some people have done mutiple and much longer MC's than I, and they still love the taste of the drink.

i discovered raw foods while i was fasting... and many people fast who are not raw so it's not like you need to fast to be raw or need to be raw to fast. they are not connected in that way.

if you choose to fast though there are many different types of fasts.

you can feast on green smoothies
you can fast on juice - made fresh with a juicer
you can fast on master cleanse which is a mixture you can google and learn more about.
you can fast on water

or anything else you choose.

the most important thing though... is that IF you want to fast... read and research. don't just get spoon fed information because knowledge is empowering and oh so important when you are fasting. (or beginning raw foods for that matter).

i wish you all the best!

If it were me I'd go raw for awhile, let that detox my system a bit, and then do a juice fast.

Thank you all. I think I will go raw vegan first, then try to fast when I have gotten more used to the diet.
