Hello, Everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hello. I started eating 90% raw about two weeks ago. I've always liked lots of raw food, so it hasn't been difficult for me to make the "transition" to 90%. I'm not really doing it for health reasons or to lose weight, I'm doing it just because I really like the taste and texture of raw foods. Fortunately, I live in intown-Atlanta and am less than two blocks from Whole Foods (yes, I know it's expensive!) and less than half a mile from an amazing health food store, so I have lots of options.
I am a busy professional but I like to take time to make good food to take to work for snacks and lunch. In a pinch, my workplace has a decent caf with a good raw salad bar so I can pick up something there. Like everyone else here, I have a ton of good raw "cookbooks" and love kitchen gadgets.
In my spare time I like to explore outdoors -- hiking, backpacking, climbing, all of that. Love to travel out west to Utah, Colorado, etc. and up to the nearby Southern Appalachians
I'm getting close to 50 now and look forward to the possibility of early retirement in the next 5 years or so.
Looking forward to learning from all of you.
Cheers, Y'All.
